The ger follow the creatures, but find that instead of following the stream, they can go through the forest. They set up an ambush in the trees, and wait to see what the skittering creatures will do.
However, just as they set up, the creatures blunder straight into them. Not where the ambush was planned, but the Ger were still as bloodthirsty as ever.
Quickly surrounding the creatures, the Ger killed them all, losing 0 warriors, and having 2 wounded - 1 badly.

The premise was good, throwing objects at animals to wound them. However, rocks don't seem to be the best solution. Your hunters try using long pointed sticks to throw, which seem to do well with killing beasts.

The Sodtat realise that sleeping on the grass haphazardly won't help their situation. One by one, Cutting leaves and branches from trees, they move them to create a "line in the sand", marking their property. It won't protect from the elements, but it makes for a rudimentry form of ownership.

The hunters are throwing stones, when one hits another and causes a number of sparks to fly up. The Xion go to investigate the giants, moving slowly through the trees, and trying not to be seen. However, as they come upon the place where they should be, the beasts are gone. Turning, they puzzle this as they head back to the river.
Suddenly, they hit an ambush set by the cunning creatures, though it seems they weren't expecting them.
Nevertheless, the Xion are soon surrounded. They fight valiantly, wounding many of them, but soon they are all killed by the thick-skinned race.
