So, I updated the turn early. Anyone feel like complaining?
Turn 218:00:00Shades and the well-spoken ZanithYou have researched Level 1 Foraging
The Zanith have discovered a rare, and filling fruit that grows at the tops of trees. Zanith can now work in teams of three to climb these trees, by slinging makeshift vines around the base. Soon, a stockpile of this fruit will build.
You have researched Level 2 Shelter
A team of Zanith find a sprig of dead trees, and, with the help of a few other packs, manage to haul them over to the front of the cave, propping them against the opening. They have holes, and will let a cold wind in, but they will also help somewhat against the elements, and any would-be attackers. The walls are built higher, with gaps so that the Zanith can enter and leave their spaces.
Your next periods of research can be:
1. Plant and Fruit gathering
2. Hunting
3. War.
4. Herbalism
5. Navigation
6. Shelter
7. Water gathering.
8. Culture.
9. Government.
Now that we have basic shelter sorted out it is time to explore our utopian surroundings. Send out some of the herd to take note of local land marks (5. Navigation) and report back on anything interesting.
With our plant food stocks plentiful thanks to the new fruit we have found it is time to start looking at other forms of food. Send a team of our best, stealthiest and fastest hunters to look for warm blooded prey to add to our food stocks. (2. Hunting)
EJ and the brutal GerThe alpha gives a grunt, and the Ger turn to chase the enemy. Somehow, though, the new prey has disappeared in the direction of the village anyway. With a ripple of it's back muscles, indicative of a shrug, the alpha attacks the village anyway, only to find that most of them are already gone, warned by the skittering creatures. With a roar of rage, the alpha still leads the warriors to kill the population which stayed behind, piling the bodies in the centre of the village. They then rape them. And maim them. And burn them. Your decisions are:
1. Settle down in the captured village.
2. Try to find the elusive skittery creatures.
Because you are a warlike race, you have developed TECH STEAL
Why waste time trying to research new ideas when you can merely rampage through an existing race, and steal theirs? However, because you didn't learn it yourself, you will only gain a percentage of the research they undertook, but if you research that area, it will be faster as long as you stay in that area. Also, leaving an area has a chance of you forgetting a stolen skill.
You have stolen LEVEL 2 HOUSING
There are crude shacks set up around the place. These offer protection from the elements as well as a way for your villagers to store and claim ownership to things.
You have stolen FIRE
CONGRATULATIONS!
Your race has now found two different types of rock near the fire place, and a way to make fire anew by striking these stones together. By searching, you could be able to find more rocks of this kind.
WITH THE INVENTION OF FIRE, YOU HAVE PROGRESSED A LEVEL OF CULTURE Warning - leaving this area will demote you from settlers, back to nomads. This will have no effect on your tech or evolution chances.
(Not that I'm trying to stop you from leaving.)
Pillow killer, and the intelligent SodtatAs the emmisary trots down towards the people sitting there, a solitary figure from the other side comes up to meet you, obviously with the same intention.
Speech: PM me what you want the diplomat to say and ask, and I'll "translate" it, based upon your speech and attitudes, before returning a reply
Flintus and the amphibious LactarlAs the emissary moves up to meet them, one of the figures moves down towards you, obviously with the same intentions
Speech: PM me what you want the diplomat to say and ask, and I'll "translate" it, based upon your speech and attitudes, before returning a reply, based upon their speech and attributes.
Because you have encountered basic-speaking thinkers, you have learned "TALKSIE"
Because face it, you aren't going to learn a new language upon entering an unfamiliar herd. Therefore, by using phrases of your own language, along with some rudimentry universal sign language, the point should get across. The other emisarry was doing it, so your emissary follows suit.
You have researched Level 1 Hunting
One of your pack decides that it would be a lot easier to get fish if they had a faster way of killing them. A stone, dropped from above, just might do it - or at least stun them.
You have researched Level 2 Hunting
While dropping stones, a pack member realises how sily an idea it was to blindly drop large stones in the water, when a smaller stone, made lethal by the Lactarl's superior vision and pinpoint aim, might do better.
Due to you having learned Level 2 of hunting, a new research area has opened up to you: HUSBANDRY.
If fish are getting hard to find, why not find a way to keep them near the shoreline?
Your next options for research are:
1. Plant and Fruit gathering
2. Hunting.
10. Husbandry
3. War.
4. Herbalism
5. Navigation
6. Shelter
7. Water gathering.
8. Culture.
9. Government.
The Lactarl will start fishing.

New Martian emperor and the mossy ZuickYou have researched level 1 foraging
The Zuick have discovered a rare, and filling fruit that grows at the tops of trees. Zuick can now work in teams of three to climb these trees, by slinging makeshift vines around the base, and tightening them to provide a hold. Soon, a stockpile of this fruit will build.
You have researched level 1 Herbalism
The Zuick discover a herb which, when chewed, will temporarily numb the mouth.
Your next periods of research can be:
1. Plant and Fruit gathering
2. Hunting
3. War.
4. Herbalism
5. Navigation
6. Shelter
7. Water gathering.
8. Culture.
9. Government.
The Zuick begin to learn the lay of the land, and start to focus upon making this new haven into a place where they can really live.
Shelter, Navigation.
Jetsquirrel, and the quick Xion.Luckily, the villagers can see the lumbering monsters as well, and were already considering evacuation. With the help of your race, a majority get out, while some stubbornly stay behind to their deaths. As the warbeasts lumber into the village, your pack disappears into the trees, losing the herd it had helped. Moving onwards, the Xion discover a river. Your choices are
1. Move upstream.
2. Move downstream.
3. Stay where you are.
(You can use scouting runs here.)
You have been offered major evolutions.
You may choose one of these.
1. Mottled skin (+ to stealth in forests) - 10 genpoints
2. Chitinous feet (+ to speed over deserts) - 10 genpoints
Research Chitinous feet.
Send scouting runs along both ways of the river.
Stay where they are.
