I recognize posters more by avatars than by name, mostly due to the fact that many forum names are not easy for me to say, so I can't remember them well.

Aside from that, since this is the internet, I refuse to believe that the avatar has any connection to the poster or post, same thing I do with any ads.  It's all just flashing lights and colors to me anymore.

When I see Dasleah's avatar, I know someone's about to get smacked down, so I get excited.  When I see Tack's old avatar my spine kind of tingles with irritation.

I identify people from a mix of avatar and name but with some people it's almost entirely avatar, for example when qwertyuiopas changed from the tunnel it took me a couple of days to figure out who he was, it was only when I saw him do a post with the progression of his avatars in that I realised.

I recognize a lot of people by their avatars. Those without 'em, can't really remember many. WIth the fads, I get confused between who's who.
I don't think there isn't much to tell from my avatar.

Currently a bit of a hermit crab when it comes to avatars, as I don't have any I'm really attached too.  Hmm, maybe I should go down to the botanic gardens and take myself a nice picture of a snail...

I used to have no avatar, anywhere. Then I met this picture in an avatar thread, and i just HAD to use it. It was a thread to help a person to get an avatar. He chose another picture, so i asked him and then grabbed this one, which was refused.

Now, i think I won't change it. Not anytime soon at least.
