The bug is that you can't make an: "Item in room."

You can make a... cabinet, a chest, ... a lot of things really. You can't make an object called "item in room."

(no really that's the problem. "Item in room" is not a noun/object to be made, the game thinks it is).

"Item in room" seems to occur when the noble is either asking for something that can't be made (eg, metal bed) or asking for something from a material you can't make anything out of (anything made from bismuth).

(That's why it only occurs with demands, and never mandates.  Mandates are for a specific item *or* a specific material; only demands can be with both.)

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.
