We set off to Derphy in search for more small medals (i'm not bothering calling them spoilery anymore). Unfortunately, there are no good fetch quests there.
Upon arriving i notice that one of the gauntlets we found apparently have [Miracle] quality. Trying to identify it...
...fails, and reveals that we need to investigate the item to find out what it is, which costs a fuckton. The good news is, this means that the gauntlets are an artifact.
I head off to Yowyn again before remembering that i already took all the medals here. I stay at the inn and sleep.
No bad dreams this time, which is lucky.
See this quest? Under normal circumstances i would have taken it, but with our reduced speed there is currently no way we're going to reach Noyel in 11 days. A shame, since it pays a ludicrous amount of cash.

We claim the rewards for our quest. Picks currently have no use whatsoever in mining (i think), only counting as furniture.
I then noticed that Boksi wasn't with us, and upon checking with the bartender in town, he had apparently died and i hadn't noticed. I quickly pay a small fee to resurrect him.
After gathering more medals there is one final thing to do here...

Joining the Mages Guild is very good for a spellcaster, because in addition to reduced identification costs, you can also "request" spellbooks, highly useful in case you need to replenish on a spell you have run out off.
I head off towards Noyel, only briefly pausing here...
The Lumiest Graveyard, which house two medals and a rod.
This is Noyel, a town that's infamous for taking huge amounts of time to reach. After entering and searching for medals, i quickly hit the hay in the inn.
Oh hey! This dream is good, it grants a 1500 turn buff that increases luck by 777 points. Which is highly useful.
This is Ebon the Fire Giant. He's standing on a small medal. We CAN get that small medal by unlocking his shackles, unfortunately, there's two reasons we won't.
1: We don't have lockpicking.
2: He'll breathe fiery death at us before we have a chance to do anything else.
Luckily, we don't need that medal, so i head off south to get that artifact already.
We get ambushed, and i proceed to cast a spell for the first time with this character, because my current main weapon refuses to hit.

The Diablo. Aside from dealing ginormous amounts of damage, it also boosts our speed enough to offset our mutation (and even slightly more), as well as preventing us from becoming blind and paralyzed. It also occasionally stops time, freezing everything else in place for several turns, allowing us to stab people over and over again until they resume acting.
In other words, this weapon is awesome.
