Right then, let's go and start with the actual adventuring. Trying to leave our home gives appearance to...
Norne is essentially someone who pops up when new stuff happens to inform you about things. She gives you several pieces of advice, the main one being
"don't read spellbooks in your home". Sometimes reading spellbooks have nasty effects, such as losing all your mana, teleportation, but most importantly, it can spawn several powerful monsters. FFFFFUUUU-
This is a Rogue Boss, a random World Map encounter that happens independent of your luck. We have two options, we can either.
A: Fight 15-20 really hard mobs. This is not recommended unless you have a Rod of Teleportation, in which case you can just use it at yourself to make a quick escape.
B: Surrender all our cargoes (include our stack of 8 Traveler's Food) and the gold price shown.
I'm choosing B because i don't want to die 5 minutes into our lets play.
After our stroke of bad luck we enter Vernis, the Mining Town.
Norne instantly states the obvious. I said go away, you!
After that, this little screen pops up:
This screen always appears when you enter Vernis for the first time. We get to choose a pet, a companion which will accompany us in our adventures.
This isn't really so much of a choice here, i'm taking the Little Girl, mainly because it's the only pet we can choose from that can wear normal equipment.
