Sorry. After some deep soul searching, I have decided that procrastination attempts are more important to me then bringing you updates in a timely manner. On the plus side, my computer has mostly stabilized itself.

Yays! Squaddie! I'm slightly more usefull then a redsirt =D

Journal of Metal Militia
Well first off, Spartan 117 seems to be alright after the surgery he went through, which is good (the lunch lines still as long though)

I'm also inpressed with 'The Freeman' as people have started to call him, running int combat single mindedly with enough guns to arm a battalion of red shirts!

Well son of a--

My fracking android nearly got wiped out on that mission.

I hope he fixes up quickly. I don't want him to be a regular mauve shirt. Never dies, but never really useful either.

Good news: I believe my hard drives to still be mostly functional.
Bad news: My system was highly unstable for a few days, preventing me from doing much.
Good news: I had Fun trying to play Zelda 2 (That platformer/RPG hybrid), and have recovered from the festivities.
Bad news: There will be no update today.
Good news: I think the problem was with my mostly extraneous network card, and I should be able to resume updating regularly starting tomorrow.
Bad news: The turkey was slightly overcooked.

Try brining it. It turns out better.  But isn't it ALWAYS?

Small update tonight, but it wasn't much of a mission.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Things we need:
-A name for base two.
-Any vehicles that need a name, one per person. We've got two phoenix hovercars, a swarm of hoverbikes, a valkyrie air transport, and a wolfhound APC land transport.

Things coming soon:
-Another weapon selection! We'll have rocket launchers, minilaunchers (5-shot clips, limited homing ability), plasma swords, plasma pistols (Superior in nearly all ways to lawpistols), and alien disruptor guns (Unlimited ammo, recharges over time, one handed weapon). I'll update whatever post has the weapons after disruptor guns have been researched. This choice will open up such fun things as duel-wielding M4000s.
-Squad selections and naming (Optional). See anyone you want your character grouped with when possible? Want to name a squad "The Crazed Lemmings?" Well, now you can!

Giving Bug 2 plasma pistols would be nice or if there is only one then a plasma pistol and a plasma sword.

I'd like a character please!  ;D

Type: Mutant
Name: If male, Prince Quentar
         If female, Princess Moonspeak

Personality: Feels mutants (or hybrids, as they prefer to call themselves) will one day rule humanity, and that the sectiods are superior to humans.

Typical quotes: Stupid Cultists, they worship the wrong aliens!
Yup, my parent fought in the Second Alien War.  Too bad they lost.

Further: The parent that fought in the previous Second Alien War should be the same gender as the character.  Thus female mutant=mother sectoid and male mutant=male sectoid.

Male mutant would sound a lot like Prince Namor or imagine an arrogant elf prince.

Female mutant is discretely squickish, talking about "probing" and "worms" in a playful manner.  Can be seen watching the Alien Containment Unit with longing during her off-hours.

Equip the Male with powersword or female with stunner.  Both should have lighter armor, stun grenades, and psi mind unit.

Both wish to see the aliens defeated, but will flee when at (30% left) poor health.  Despite their comments to the contrary, they prefer to be supported by other characters, and tend to flee to their comrades if on their own.

Edited the names to perhaps sound better (and so the princess being a parody of certain aspects of japanese culture is more clear).

Ok give Meal Militia an alien pistol and that stun grapple thing, A hover bike called 'Mars Angel', Also I seem to remember I was a squad leader so remane a squad 'Aliens and Proud' made up of hybrides.

My proposed hybrid characters would be glad to be in the squad "Aliens and Proud".  Although if the RNG makes the next hybrid a male (to make clear, I'll take whichever gender the RNG give me, I don't want two characters), then you can expect the young prince to think the squad should obey HIM.

"Who cares about your experience? I was BORN to lead all hybrids!"

The princess could care less.

Alright, but I think there were only (genderless and cloned) sectoids in the first alien war, with the hybrids being a result of genetic experiments.
