Indeed, lignite and charcoal burn for close to a year (around 10 months or so).

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

What if i dump 6 adamantine bins whit cocke inside the furnace and set that all on fire?

You wouldn't need to make the bins out of adamantine - iron and steel are just as good at not melting when dropped in magma.
