Wrong. Elephants are a joke this version, they run away from your dwarves and don't fight back. Elephants are no longer the arch-enemy of dwarves. I imagine if you got them to fight they would just run away from the carp.

Carp on the other hand latch on and drag dwarves to a watery grave with little to no provocation.

Although technically, yes, they have been deprived of their place as King of the Land and turned into (if I remember the phrase properly) cheese-eating surrender monkeys (at least according to a multitude of other reports).  Someone must do an experiment with Unicorns, though; preliminary experience as an elf adventurer indicates that they have become more aggressive in a seeming bid for the now empty Kingship (since they appeared to attack elf peasants and children without any obvious provocation).

Frenchmen, like ninjas, can be badass if they are individual (i.e. not in an army) and are not speaking English (i.e. are speaking French). If you don't believe me watch the newest Die Hard movie. There's two French ninjas who, although they do IIRC eat it in the end (like all villains) are pretty badass right up until then.

As for carp vs elephant... the only animal that's killed my dwarves has been giant leopards.

France has a long history of badassery:  Napoleon, Ingres, D'Artagnan, Lancelot, and the list goes on.  Napoleon and Lancelot were *not* surrender monkeys, and until carp can gore dwarves to death with their tusks before trampling them into beared paste, I think this places ninjas firmly back into their proper position as > than pirates.

Note 1: Napoleon wasn't French. Also, you seen to have forgotten Joan d'Arc.

Note 2: The ninja/pirate discussion has been done a few hundred times, but I really don't think that vikings come even close to either.
