It was meant to be Log but the receiving computer had a stack overflow.

First ten minutes of play I ate my loincloth and then got some limbs torn off by a super friendly rat. Thumbs up from me.

My god, it all makes sense!
I'd still rather it be "I want a hamburger." more.

Am I the only one who finds the stack overflow to be the funniest hypothesis?

40 years?

Crazy, considering it's been less than 15 years since it's been assumed that everybody has an email address, less than 10 that google, youtube and facebook have existed, less than 20 since home computers were commonplace....wow

I don't know what a stack overflow is, but I'm guessing that computers 40 years ago were about advanced enough that Angband would be a dazzling technical accomplishment, which makes transmitting the phrase "lo" pretty dang impressive

Thanks Al Gore! Your series of pipes had made all our lives better! How else could I send images of cats with captions to my friends and pass them hundreds of surveys? And don't get me started on the nice ladies in those chat rooms that always wanted to know my age and location down to the address back when I was 12.

It's been 40 years since the idea of the internet has existed in some implementation or another, but the internet that we use today has only been around since the 6th August, 1991, when the World Wide Web specification was released, based on the work of Tim Berners Lee. So while '40 years' sounds impressive, it's the same thing as saying that the car has been around for a hundred thousand years, because you count it from when the wheel was made.

Off topic, am I the only one still scared of Dasleah? Seriously, that thread she made creeped me the fuck out.

'She'?  Don't tell me we've had yet another closet female roaming around on the boards all this while.

Beh, maybe I'm just getting old.  I'm not as "in" as I used to be.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.
