You And your fellow Humans Have decided to start a new town. Your King has given 5 years to do as much as possible. After 5 years he will send a team of men to judge your town, and if it meets the requirements, you will become the nation's "Head Architect".

So this is how everything is gonna work. I will be providing you with a map. The rest is up to you. You are to submit your entries on November 14, Which is a bit more than 2 weeks from now. The Entries will be judged by both a point based system, and by other players.
The Points.

If you have any more ideas for acheivments, feel free to leave them in your reply, if I think they're worthy enough, i'l add them to the list!
The Map (and other stuff you'll need to play).

What we'll be using = http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1537
Everything that you'll need to play is included in that save.

Well, my only human town was my 3rd ever, left it alone after 3 years. If I build, it will be for the flavor of the town and not to earn achievements. It's going to be *authentic* to the best of my ability.

You might want to provide the entire DF folder, as many of us have different ideas of what constitutes a human mod. Also, you forgot the Fear of the Unknown award.

Oh, sorry about that. Updated the main post with the achievement, and some info on what we will use.

CAT_MOUTH fixes are required in order to load the world. Can't generate an embark without them, I get a missing body part fatal error. With the CAT_MOUTH fixes from the wiki, and 'orc mod' from dffd, I get a missing shape definition fatal error, with no other information. You really need to just package everything up.

see, the problem is, I have LOTS of other things in my DF humie folder. Lots of unorganized things that might be important DF files, or they might be un-needed crap.

Eventually we'll get it. Now there's a missing reaction; and I had added the awemedinite reaction before trying it (removed it again), so I don't think it's that.

This is just retarded. I'm compressing the WHOLE folder, and uploading it.

I'm an (moderately) experienced DF player, first-time forum poster, so hopefully this isn't useless.

Some questions about scoring:

Fear of the unknown - as in, you can go up *and* down 3 z-levels (7 total z-levels including the home z-level) and score this?  or you can only use 3 total z-levels?  I haven't looked at the map yet - if the terrain isn't flat, how do you judge this?  is it at a local x,y point only n z-levels can be used, or does is it a global 'you can use z = z1, z2, z3, ... z7 and no more'?

This award does seem kind of lame since it limits the height of megaprojects if you try to get it.  So I imagine people will totally ignore it since no one is going to win a voting award by not building upward a bunch.  It might be better just to limit mining depth...

Woody/Dragon Proof: I assume this only counts constructions?  Or do you need to deconstruct your workshops and rebuild them after you have suitable materials too?

If you do some construction with metal bars/blocks, is it still dragon proof?

Walk to work: What counts as an 'entrance' to your fortress?  If i line the walkway with walls, but have a definable entrance at one end and the mine at the other, are they still walking to work?

Fear of the unknown = You can build up AND down, and the starting Z level is the level where the building's "Ground" floor is.

Woody/Dragon proof only counts constructions, And yea i should probably at metal to "Dragon proof"

I've Updated so "walking to work" is 40 squares away from the center of your fort.

The acheivements are pretty limiting, and I really only have them here as an extra challenge, Whoever gets the 1st place award should win, unless the other guy has 2nd place and a clusterfuck of acheivments, and the first guy has none

What alterations did you make to the humans? Did you add trap components or anything distinctly non-human?

Trap components are the only "non-humie" things there. And the trap compenents are there just so you can build screwpumps.

Download gives me 'missing bodypart: cat mouth' error on trying to play.  Do you use the fix on the wiki, or something else?

Now i'm missing a reaction definition...  Can the download actually just be a full DF install so it actually works?

Edit: I am using the DFFD 1540 dl.

Edit edit: sorry, that was the dl from the first post.  For some reason i thought the OP had been updated to the new dl... trying the other one...

Edit^3: Same issue.  What reaction definition am i missing?
