You could always find some aluminum foil and grind it with a makeshift pestle and mortar, correct? Or just use some other chemicals, even, it's not like you need aluminum and iron oxide specifically.

We shall lug about our contraption for now. Eventually we shall have it completed and useful, but for now nothing threatening seems to be aprowl. Instead we shall set out and try to ascertain the size of the space station and where its command nucleus would be logically located.

No, you don't need aluminum. However, aluminum is one of the best thermite compunds and is usually readily available.

And yes, I could grind up my own, but finding powdered stuff is better.

The dice decide. A 6 and you find it as a structural component, a 5 and you likely find powdered, 4, solid, 3 as an impure alloy, 2 none at all, and 1 you will probably lose the rust in the process or something.

Just a question; is that what you were intending when you gave me a bottle of iron oxide?

Not a bottle, just some scrapings, and the why is a relatively useless(Acids are much more universally useful) and common(Rust is common.) compound.

Uhh... I...

I'll try to make a weapon that shoots/is covered by electricity from what's in the container.

Ah. The way you phrased it, I thought it would be a compound in a bottle, intended for use in chemistry. Otherwise, it's just normally referred to a rust, or a rusty object. Just like how sodium chloride is normally referred to as salt outside of chemistry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~TURN 12~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spoiler: actions (click to show/hide)
Michael, feeling confident that nothing can distract him from his task, sets off to explore when another wave of "Ooh, shiny!" hits him.
He takes an air tank and attaches it to his sleeping unit with another two metres of cabling, and stuffs a food ration and a flashlight
into the sleeping unit.
Kenton excitedly installs another TWO solar panels, though in his activity, he used more air than usual. The air tank still has 85% left.
Korbin seeks out aluminum, and finds some mostly pure aluminum alloy scrap metal. But it's not powdered! So, he grinds it into a powder,
not realizing until after that he had forgotten a container to hold it in.
There is now a pile of 94% aluminum 6% other metal powdered aluminum alloy. (The statistics are arbitrary, but they are what I will use,
having arbitrarily decided it will be 94% and 6%)
Rino finds the intra-station broadcasting setting on a nearby communication unit.
Frederick attempts to fix the broken cabling, only realizing after some searching that the broken cabling was broken in the kitchen, and
behind some heavy appliances. It would probably take some effort to move them so that he could fix it, or an alternate circuit could be
made a bit further on after the break(Either way will work, if you get a good enough roll)
Ljór is about to leave to check the statistics about the station, but then considers that the computer probably has the statistics. It
does. The station appears to be 7 vertical decks, and fairly large, though nothing compared to most city stations. Makes sense, since this
is unusually portable, and doesn't seem to be designed to house a city. It probably was designed for a crew of at most a few hundred. The
command area is somewhat dispersed, but the main concentration seems to be generally close to the middle of the station where it wouldn't
take much damage.
Dakam, in an attempt to make an electic weapon, discharges one of the betteries into himself. He survivs, mostly unharmed, though somewhat
shocked. Still, he now knows a bit about what NOT to do.
Find a container, then mix equal amounts of aluminum and iron oxide together.
