I figure General Discussion is where people go to talk about anything, but I'd think that everyone here plays or has played DF.
Has anyone not? Or not played in a very long while?

Haven't properly played since before the last release, not including opening it up mucking about for about 10 minutes then quiting.

I still hang around because I like these forums and they were the first forums I ever joined.

It's been quite a while since I played, but that's just from time. I did that at the last "2D" release, too. Bay 12 has an unintentionally awesome forum.

I sorta stopped playing after a disaster hit my megaproject. Plus, I also was really busy with a ton of other RL (Real-Life, not Roguelike) things.

DFTherapist is helping me figure out a way to recover (learning a bit more about everyone, keeping better track, more rapid ordering, etc.). I might risk it, and call in some assistance from a recovery team (IE- reclaim party).

If things work out, I might get back to a stable update, but it depends if my main character survives the reclaim.

Aside that, these forums have been pretty awesome. I feel more at home here than past forums I visited/past frequented. Plus, I got addicted to livestreams (watching and broadcasting). I've also seen some pretty awesome stuff from everyone else (DF related or not). Plus, these forums have rather intelligent and silly threads. A nice moderate balance. As long as it doesn't degrade into a L0Lf35t, and unnecessary bullcrap, I like it. It's fun.

I play DF, but I find that I spend more time on the forums talking about the game than actually playing it.

But yes, the Bay12 forums are awesome. Especially after coming from a Runescape forum.

I haven't played DF in several months due to a continued mega-modding effort, which I'm slowing getting along with. I feel it's better for me to get everything down in the raws than just have it floating about, even if I'm going to have to revise the whole thing in a few months' time.

Exept im more creepily obsessed, and ramped up to eleven.

I just ahvn't had time for games in a very long time, more than half a year, pherhaps a whole, i dunno... Anyway, ironicaly keeping up on these forums is one of the greatest timesinks causing that actualy.

I've been playing lately.  Mostly with a combination of the IT and wonderment mods.

Wonderment is great.  I don't worry so much about FPS-killing features like underground rivers and whatnot, because coal is actually a viable source of fuel. And the clowns keep my military from getting too skilled; most die before they can reach elite/lord status, and even those that do have died.

Along the same lines; Toady should monitor the forum page view statistics for a few weeks after release, just to watch everybody start playing again and neglecting the forum.
