The bloody bridge of Antwerp

Hrm???

Also, hoplites in RTW are fun and all, but they're a really pain in the ass to learn how to use properly. Half the time they just say "fuck the phalanx" and march in with swords on me. So it looks like I'm going back to playing Roman factions until I unlock everyone else.

I use them to flank gates, let them break in then incinerate them from both sides. Never thought to use them on a bridge as they never get enough shots off to do any real damage.

On rome, the hoplites are fun and all, but I know what you mean. It only really works if the enemy isn't actively engaging them, which ruins, you know, the entire point.

hah, pun

This exists? That's faptacular! Too bad I'm slightly retarded and can't follow step by step instructions, meaning mods are pretty much a lost cause for me.

Now what?
Download Europa Barbarorum instead of playing vanilla?

Anyways after getting kinda back into Stainless Steel a bit I realized/remembered why I can never play it for long.  Male characters in SS (never noticed it in any other mod) refuse to look for wives. So unless your a Christian Faction who can send diplomats to acquire princesses for your direct King->Heir line, the ruling dynasty is destined to die.  Its not such a problem for like the Republic of Venice, or factions like the HRE (and I think Byzantium) who have elective law but for the Kingdoms its just like... meh.

My favorite is...

"Secretly a woman". Though that might only be for priests.

I always laugh when I see that.  There was once a pope in one campaign who got that trait.

Female Popes really aren't that uncommon I've seen them a few times when I used to play M2TW a lot more then I do today.

Really wish Dominion of the Sword or EB2 would come out though. That would really get me back into M2.

That trait is based on the myth of Pope Joan.
