I had the original Medieval: Total War.
That game was the shit.
I wasn't into the whole take-over-Europe part of the game when I had it, so I'd just make castle defense against 6000 peasants, with footmen. Good times.
However, the second disk got quite a few scratches, so I sanded it down, but I sanded too deep, erasing everything on it.
I cried.

Just bought M2:TW and Kingdoms off Steam, installing now.

EDIT:
Also, I can't find the Scotsman in Egypt LP. I tried the SA LP archive, but the PDFs don't open.
Any help?

I'd never heard of that before... but damn, that was funny. I can only imagine the player's thoughts as he decided to launch an attack on Egypt from Scotland.  :D

It's actuilly a common Challenge Mode, take a large army early on, travel to the opposite side of the map as fast as possible, have Fun.

I start the game, click 'play' from the community or whateveryoucallit screen, half my screen goes black and a 'M2:TW has stopped working' screen appears immediately. Any fixes?

That happens. You need to wait a bit before it starts working. Same thing happened to me.

Note to self:
Never give the enemy ladders.
It makes for boring sieges.
Also, why does the AI not like walls?

I beleive units defending the walls get a bonus 10 points or so to their defence, attacking the walls is bad.

I meant the path finding. I understand that path finding in this game could be better, but the enemy troops would flatten themselves against the wall on the floor, and my infantry wouldn't attack them unless I moved them close enough that they start auto attacking them.

I left it sitting there for 20 minutes and nothing happened.

Try it a few more times. If it doesn't work then, restart your computer.
I haven't gotten the problem, but that should work.
If it doesn't, try reinstalling.

You have to wait a LONG time. Also, you shouldn't run it during the time. Just quit it, leave it a alone for a few hours (Maybe a day) and it will work. Trust me.

Its true. I got it off steam as well. Its working fine for me right now, but I got the same error message when I launched it. I waited a while, and then it played. I Know it sounds retarded, but trust me.
