The last time I played I did that and it worked.  I got one of their more respectful players pretty mad I think.

Rules updated: mostly to establish the Hammer system.

Also: the game CAN start with this many players technically.  I would prefer two other people, though to make it a normal game.

You know, I used to worry about scum trying to take me out, but I think after that little escapade I really need to try to get myself NK'd.  Vector at 3-man lylo is not exactly pro-town.

Right idea.. wrong reasoning.

Townies should be willing to die because they don't lose when they die..they lose when mafia wins.  Dying in order to take out a mafia is one of the best things a townie can do.  Living to the end and getting slaughtered by the mafia is one of the worst.  That also includes getting lynched: if the town lynches you but your actions cause them to lynch a mafia afterwards, it's WELL worth it.

You CAN be worried that the town will lynch you and, then, be left without anything to do (a wasted mislynch).  Thus defend yourself only so long as you know it won't bring the town any closer to a mafia lynch.  The priority, though, should always be on finding the enemy to the cost of your life if need be.

I was thinking about how it was a possible cover for scum, or even for a towny trying to make other people believe his suspicions.  I'm not really a brave enough player to do either of those things, though.  When the shit hits the fan, I claim town .
