Yeah; the reason this worked so well is that nobody knew how it worked.

If you change the way Webadict works each time, then this could become rather entertaining.

Yeah, I'm mostly thinking that more bastard mods would be good.  A rehash of this one?  Not so much.  A similar idea (1 overpowered v. many), with a slightly different mechanic, different roles... yes, definitely.

Plus, I really want to retry the cell idea.  See if it works and stuff.

I'm working on a roleset for a bastard mod game (at least, by your definition) at the moment, I'll post details once I'm reasonably sure it's balanced

The idea DOES need to be a series.  However, you can't use the same mechanics. 


That's the messy side behind a Bastard Mod: Once everyone knows how the game works, you can't play it anymore. 

So you can make another 'Kill Webadict Now' but you'll need to make a new set of mechanics and win conditions.  If it's a new setup then, yes, another Kill Webadict Now will be much appreciated.

The nice thing: since it's a Bastard Mod, you have no limits to how you set up it .

I mean the KWN principle, but with a set fakeclaim for the Webadict, and the ability to switch roles with people removed.

Sure, though if you can slip in some other puzzle along with it: something the town (and possibly webadict) has to solve in order to win then that would be awesome.

Part of the fun was trying to figure out the puzzle to being webadict while trying to keep the town from solving the puzzle behind stopping the webadict.


So if there's SOME kind of puzzle to solve, I'm autoInning.

If I reused this setup I doubt it would be another KWN.

Another KWN would have a different principle. I can already think of a few.

Investigations succeed normally. Only the Artist's Cheat doesn't work properly.

Although, Dak, if I were you, I might've tried to convert me.  You could've written something like "If you vote and unvote me, I'll investigate you and clear you".  Would I have fell for it?  Uh... maybe.

The problem is twofold, though:

1. I needed to have died on the same day.  Thus I would have to get you to do that, then get myself killed.  It's not so much a convert as it is a Switch

2. Org knew your role.  When you switch, the town sees the role PM of the NEW Webadict (that 'survivor' role that showed when Web died was MY old role).  Thus once you see "Dakarian was the Jack of Artistic Talents" float up, Org would know what's going on.

Leaf would just hopefully (for him) defend himself enough to make at least one person unvote. Then. when that person's role flips, people just think, "Ok, so people are flipping different roles. I guess we can't tell THEIR role, but know what an existent role is."

And then a townie is lynched and his/her partner realizes that the claimed role == the flipped one.

I'm sure one person would unvote... at some point... surely... I could try supporting Nuke, throwing up WIFOM or something.

The thing is, IF you figured out how to pass the role on while still the Webadict, it becomes possible to make everyone who hasn't already died win. You just choose to pass the role on because anyone who has ever had it gains the win condition - thus, you just voluntarily pass the role along and have everyone !none at night. Then, at the night with 2 people, you need the Webadict and JanusTwoface (the GOAT). The Webadict then has to choose not to kill, but do any sort of action on the GOAT. The GOAT then controls both of their votes, and thus can vote for the Webadict, unvote, then vote with both of their votes to lynch Webadict.

In other words, it's possible for all but a very small number of people to win, though that clearly didn't happen.

I still find it ironic that web flipped survivor. I can imagine a role PM: "You're a survivor. I told everyone you're scum. Good luck with this one."

The survivor flip coupled with his behavior should've been an initial indicator that something was Not Right here.
