The reason we tend to seperate "People" from "Animals" is because we like to think that we're special, that we're just better than that cat that is sitting on my lawn. Additionally some of us feel that we are God's chosen people, which gives them justification for that feeling of superiority.

Here is a capybara. I like them because they have what looks like a sort of smug, sarcastic facial expression. And weird snouts.
