Does chopping off all the limbs of a Shopkeeper, then gouging out her eyes and letting her BLEED TO DEATH count as epic?

If not, well... there's always the time I killed an Elven child by throwing it by the nose.
Repeatedly.

Hmm. I didn't know throws did damage.
Throws by themselves don't, but the slamming into obstacles do.

Hold on hold on.  Whenever I throw enemies with legendary wrestlers all that happens is the guy becomes flying momentarily then goes prone in the same spot.  It's never done damage through any sort of impact before.  What am I doing wrong?

The guy you throw needs to hit something. Usually a tree or wall. If thrown hard enough, they can lose limbs (explode?).

See golfing hammer damage for other details.

Also, if you have a custom adventurer with a huge size you can pick people up and throw them using the throw wrestle command. They actually fly and slam into stuff, but it's usually not very dangerous. You can play games with it though.

Children=bowling ball

guards=pins

How do you throw someone so that they fly directionally and not just fall down where they stand?

New one...

I was surrounded by an ambush of dozens of modded zombies, and getting tired and no way to fight my way out, so I set fire to the tree next to me.

I became exhausted from blocking and all the counterstrikes, passed out and was mauled to death as the flames consumed my body and the zombies, ending with the one that killed me.

What mod are you playing that has the parts like quadricepts and femur? or does the current version have them?

They may be in the next release though now that things are more detailed.

It's part of my body mod that I put in my various mods - there's an early version of it in the modding forums. I'll be posting the revised version up later in the as-of-now unnamed zombie mod soon.

It adds in basic human skeleton, muscles, and many more organs.

Pretty much just luck. Strength / Wrestling skill might help though.

I think my most epic moment of "failure" (for lack of a better word) was when I was sprinting down a hallway under a mountain, and I practically fly up onto a slope above me in a single bound...

... Right into the middle of a ****load of Troglodyte zombies. Between punching me, grabbing me, and throwing me, it took them forever to finally kill me. They bruised most of my organs, broke all of my joints, and just. Kept. Punching me.

Finally one hit me in the throat and I suffocated on my own skin.

What's so epic about that? I survived for, like, an hour of hitting the "5" key rapid-fire. It took them several in-game hours to kill that guy. He was really freaking tough.

Something just occurred to me; can't you kill a zombie by crushing their brain? Doesn't that mean they can think...?

DF zombies are the "magically animated corpses that don't need no got-damn organs to function" kind of zombies.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Which are really the only kind that work. Biologically reanimated bodies have a whole host of problems, Like not being able to generate needed chemicals to keep the body running. In the end you'd have an "animated" corpse that can't move.

So I guess ever corpse could be an animated one and we'd just never notice

My hell of epic moment, that was the best fight i ever had, sadly i dont have log or anything but i wish i had press that vid button before i tought about it...

i had an over trainned swordman with good armor skill and throwing skill. Here is his story.

(passing trainning time nothing noteworthy there )He woke up in an INN and started recruiting peasant and fighter from all sort, spearman, archer, swordman and such. Total party size about 7. Went from town to town pretty much like beowulf looking for an epic fight. One of the town mayor told him a colossus ( bronze metal thingy ) had slain about 1/4 of his men and asked me to get rid of him. Perfect my first fight with a beast!. Goind there not knowing what i would find has i never heard of colossus yet.

Once arrived we had the sun with us and the collossus was waiting outside his lair, my archer started firing at him while my other melee guy start rushing toward him, quickly i i took out a pike i had with me and threw it to him. *Boing* Bounced off what the.... Archer firing arrow bouncing like no tomorrow. i started firing him 3 spear the best and only i had only one struck him in a leg. While i saw the colossus ripping my spearman appart i quickly ran to the colossus and said to myself it either him or me. Slashing him like its not possible, evading hits kept hitting him but... the sword finaly pierced him to get stuck in it. I ran back to the spearman corpse and found he had still his spear i took it and fired it to him while i was running he turned to fight the swordman and threw him about 14 tile farther by the forcefull blow. I threw the spear and LUCK! upper chest hit, lung pierced i then ran to him and tried to grapple the spear the induce even more pain and he finaly passed out. i kept hitting, twisting trying to wrestle him until he finaly died. That was my first *epic* fight were i was soo happy to win.

I think ill play a nice fight just to get it recorded and send it on youtube :D

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

A nightwing gored my head with it's horn and it was torn I hit it with one bolt and all it's organs were pierced and I bahed it death with the crossbow. Then I got ambushed by wolves when the last one alive ripped my spleen out.  :P
