Discover your childhood anew
« on: October 17, 2009, 06:06:31 am »

Childhood to me is a journey of discovery and re-discovery.
And I'm not even that old.

Right now in my free time I try to search up series on you tube which I liked as a small kid:
-MIB the series
-Godzilla the series
-Beast wars transformers
-Reboot
-New adventures of robin hood
-Myth Quest (sadly it's impossible to find on the internet)

What you liked when you were young? What toys? What TV series? What are your memories from childhood? How does that all compare to childhoods of children now? Maybe your children?
And above all post when your childhood was. Some people on here may be in late 50's but some aren't even 20 so they may not know what you're talking about.

I used to watch that old GI Joe cartoon a bunch, and the super mario brothers super show. Though I had an odd fixation with Barney the dinosaur until I was like, 15. And that's because the show started airing when I was 13. That embarrasses me quite a bit... Hell I think I still have a plush toy of him in my closet somewhere.

DIGIMON HELL YESSSSS!

And then the third season come along with the third new cast and things went to complete crap. The new animation style was nice, but the characters were not particularly likable to me. Then the season after that came where they WERE the digimon, and all hope was lost.
On the plus side, Pokemon died a long time before that.

My siblings and I had some other shows we were fixated with, but that was the only one I truly miss. Every other show I miss don't count as childhood things because I would watch them now If I could.
Damn you Fosters not being available anymore!

They should have built Mainframe in a ps3 because ps3 has
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
  ::)

I add Animaniacs and freakazoid to the list.

After watching an episode of He-Man, I've concluded that I had a horrible taste in entertainment as a child.

Gumby.

What's that?

I like Pokemon. Well liked is more like it. the show went stupid after the second generation and even the second was at the verge of being too dumb to watch for me. Pokemon have some nice films also.

I'll agree that the early seasons were better than the newer ones, but I still complained when my siblings watched that instead of Digimon which was aired at the same exact time.

I actually used to watch Pokemon AND Digimon, though I mainly watched Digimon because I had a crush on the brunette girl in the pink cowboy hat.

I remember having to get up EARLY in Elementary School to have to watch pokemon, and we liked it!

Stupid pokemon trading card collecting...

Anyone remember Zoids? I remember Zoids.

As well as Reboot. When I first watched it, I had never owned a computer at the time, and I distinctly remembering "Are computers really like this?".

I remember all of that, at least if Reboot is what I think it is.  But I don't really miss those.  There are shows I miss, like old Dexter's Lab, Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, and the power puff girls.  There used to be nothing but good stuff on cartoon network.  Not anymore, though. :'(

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.
