Movie frame rate?
« on: October 16, 2009, 05:25:44 am »

When I am recording videos everything is fine. But when I upload them, they go the speed of light. I heard someone say something about "speed: 50" but I have no idea how to do anything like this.

Anyone know how to fix this?

movies are recorded at whatever framerate you're running but when you upload them they play at a constant 100 fps i believe that could cause some issues

They're playing at 100 fps, which is the speed at which the game is intended to run (though you'd need a really fast computer to maintain such a high framerate beyond several dozen dwarves). When you're playing them on DFMA, click on the "<<" button to decrease the Rate at which they play.

Note that DFMA actually plays movies at half the displayed framerate - when it's set to 100, it only runs them at 50fps, so if you drop it to 50 then it'll play at 25fps. If you've got FPS_CAP set to 100 in init.txt, then setting the playback rate to 200 will cause all "paused" footage to play at the proper speed.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
