z-levels and brooks and right angles, oh my!
« on: October 15, 2009, 07:36:09 pm »

I was genning worlds the other day, when I came across this beauty of a map!
It has a mountain of over 50 z-levels that divides the map in half, trees, a brook, lots of good minerals, unfortunately no lava, and my favorite part of all... a large, perfect right angle, right at the bottom of a cliff near the top left. I have always ran out of z-levels and hate designing entrances with all the extra bits at the bottom of a cliff or hill, and this is just what I wanted.

Image of the angle:

Note: This was made while running the dig deeper mod, and so might require it to work properly.
Any feedback on the map?

Well, I never find them.

Edit: So, you were actually serious when you said oh snap? I've never seen someone use it when they weren't being sarcastic...

I've heard this happens when biomes change in the middle of a mountain. The right angle should therefore trace the boundary of one of the squares in your embark.

Most people usually do not search every square of every world to find weird things.
