ok i have to champions in my baracks... on the same square. there both dehydrated hungry and drowzy but refuse to quit fighting each other.. wtf?  how do i save them

Try ordering them on duty and/or switching their equipment. You could also try using a cave-in to force them to interrupt their task and/or push them away from each other.

In my last fortress, I had this happen several times, and in both cases I resorted to using Dwarf Companion to physically separate them, though in my case they were both guards, so putting them on/off duty wasn't an option (and I didn't have spare weapons for them to use, nor did I want them using them).

Intervene NOW. Channel the floor out from around them, and then sink a staircase into the hole. You might want to stick a gallery under your barracks to aid this in future.
