Too Dangerous for Migrants

i just got a message saying that the area was too dangerous for migrants. i have a feeling this is due to the fact i have a titan caged in the depths of my base, and maybe that goblin hammerlord too. does this mean that I wont get any more migrants until they die off? because this will definately interfere with my arena plans.

Most likely this is the cause, and the death of a few nobles could do it as well.

the last seige only a single soldier died, and we had a migration since then i think...

There's also a significant lag between when too many people die and when the civ finds our about it.  It takes the dwarf caravan going home to let them know (I'm pretty sure, at any rate)

It also seems that later on, you need a lot more wealth to get migrants, I might even claim it goes up exponentially, but I really don't pay attention to the actual numbers, I always end up having too many dwarves anyway.

A noble getting killed has a -very- big effect on the migration though.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?
(Full frontal ones, apparently.  With very short beards.)

Did it literally say it was 'too dangerous' or that the migrants were too scared to come here?

If the former, I've never seen it before but I'll bet it's related to the baddies. Presumably because the game thinks you're under siege/megabeast attack and any incoming migrants will just be obliterated.

yeah that was the actual message, its the second time i got it, the first time was right after a seige or ambush or something. my bet would be its the megabeasts fault.

Edit: also a completely unrelated question whatsoever... do megabeasts heal at all? because apparently this titan was dropped on its head as a child, when it came it walked right into a 2 z level trench in front of my gate for no reason whatsoever. it got some bruises and scrapes

Yes. My dungeon master was killed in a siege and I haven't gotten immigrants since then - over a year and a half.

Titans path into trenches and such if there is a way into your fort IIRC.

Their Dwarven greediness will win them over in the end if you create enough wealth between seasons.
