Har har har!
Where is the save?

Edit:
Nevermind I found it. I did one month so far, now I need to do other things as my time is rather limited, but I will see this through.

Here is my synopsis:

First thing I noticed: There were catapults everywhere outside
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Second thing I noticed was that the base was a mess. I couldn't tell anything from anything. Things were extremely far apart from each other and half the time I could not tell their original purpose. As such, I decided to create a new section of the base from which I would operate.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A cat claimed a craftcat's workshop. It would help somewhat if I knew where this building was located, but alas, I do not, meaning he will eventually die, should I not find it.

5 days have passed with incredible speed.

Our food stocks are pretty low and I have no idea how the live meat storage facility is supposed to work. It has now been a total of 8 days.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
What do we need?
We need armour!
To make armour we need...
Bars!
Let's make bars then.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Curiosity from the tabloids. They probably didn't "decide" to forego any public celebration as much as it was prohibited. Here in screamtortures, cripples do not have the same rights as normal cats!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The first month is done.

Small request. Finish before the weekend is over, if you can.

If you need to find the moody cat, pull up the (u)nit window (or the (j)obs window) and look through for the cat with "Strange Mood" as his active task. You can (c)enter on the individual in question, or even the (b)uilding, although the latter sometimes makes the game crash.

If I interpret skaltum correctly, he's a bit busy right now, so I'll be putting him in further down. Is this right?

So I designated all the soldiers (except the shooters) to wear chain. They will pick it up when their armour is done!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Well, the problem is we can't work at the magma forge/smelters. A couple of pieces of 3/7 magma are running around in the magma area.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Perhaps a widening of the supply tunnel?
Or perhaps a screwpump?
I'll do both!
In the mean time, our current archery training set-up was rather elementary.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
So I made a some new and improved facilities.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Glass working is extremely profitable. The goods are worth a lot more than stone goods, as such we need to set-up an industry. To do this we first need bags. So we need a clothing industry, I do not see any such facilities anywhere, as such I have made some looms and designated a digging area for bag-making with which we will turn all those webs lying around into silk and eventually bags that will hold sand and in the end decorations.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
To take full advantage of the new archery facilities I turned five crippled warriors into markscats.

There are far too few cats willing to do jobs. The military is over-flowing. I am almost through my second month, of twelve, so I am sure migrants will bring many joys with them. I hope. Else this place will turn into a ghost town!

We have now entered the last month of autumn.

I just noticed that weaving is not an option, the cats just don't have it. Same with clothesmaking. Goddamnit! How can I make a sand industry? Guess I'll have to order and buy as many bags as possible!

In the meantime, my housing project is finally getting set up. It will eventually house 19 cats.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Damnation!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Winter came. And I take a rest.

In my experience, I generally get migrants in the Spring but never at any other time.

Also, couple Fun Facts. Did YOU know that...
If a migrant shows up with a forbidden profession (Weaver, Clothier, Planter) they will be able to perform the appropriate labors?
Also, one that shows up with a general profession (Craftscat, Farmer, etc) will have all of the appropriate labors enabled, even the forbidden ones?
Bags can be made of leather? (Unless you used it all for armor.)

I just realized, after adding the new body parts to the other races, that I have an entire squad of dwarves with a shield in each hand and swinging their axes with their penises. There's nightmare fuel for those goblins, in more ways than one.

The situation is fickle at the moment. A goblin ambush surprised a group of 3 miners and killed two. Turns out everybody was friends with these miners, I had 3 or 4 unhappy and very unhappy dwarves running around, one of them (who had "Builder" as his job) tantrumed but then everything calmed down. Unluckily enough the dungeon master then went berserk and was gunned down at the trade depot by about 20 markscats at once. The builder tantrumed again (also with no damages to anybody) and then a woodcutter went melancholy. Hopefully he will stick around long enough for the other cats to bounce back, I'm currently setting up a mist generator to help the situation!

It's not a good idea to have several unhappy dwarves running around, especially considering you are at war with them.

Oh ha ha ha.

Just like to point out that the Builder is one of the original 7. As are the Founder, Collector, Foodmaster, Leathermaster, and Metalworker, as I recall. Half of which are dead :'(

Also, I would like to point out that since cats do 1-6 gore with latchon instead of 1-2 bludgeon with their unarmed strike... tantruming cats are likely to be MUCH more deadly than dwarves. As are guard-inflicted beatdowns. So, tantrum spirals are more Fun.

I hope we have very nice dining rooms and masterfully engraved walkways then. :)

Does engraving walkways actually do anything?

It increases fortress and room value.

But I've never seen anyone get a happy thought from engravings. They do get happy thoughts if you like the roads with masterwork ropes.
