A bit slow, I guess... :P
I'm somewhat inclined to let someone else have a crack at it, and rotate you back in at some later point if you want. What do people think?

If we can get past the second year... I'm beginning to suspect this fortress is cursed...

Which, of course, makes it MORE AWESOME. Now we don't just have citizens dying in horrible ways. We got players suddenly keeling over too! Or their computers, anyways.

One or the other ^^

On an other hand, I have check and I hope we'll have good fps  :) The Cats patch finding seem less complicate for the game, we have hope.

For the malediction, any succession game is cursed  ::) Or at least, great ones, Boatmurderer, SG, etc. I have a feeling of déjà vu ^^

I'll join if you're still taking more. Looks  like a fun premise for a game. :)

So. Servu, are you up for Year 2? Think YOU can handle it?

Also, Tau, would you like to be put back in the rotation? Any preference where?

Ok, I'm gonna have a go. Downloading now.

EDIT: So far so good. I have dispatched the first dorf siege. Without losses. I recently underestimated a couple of troglodytes (some wrestlers died, the Leader fell into the chasm) and I am making a nice amount of +cat tallow biscuits+, so food is no problem for now. Could use some migrants though.

Expect the same tomorrow!

Bahaha, troglodyte ownage
I found that if you want to clean the troggos next to the cavern, the simplest method is to dig down to a point right across the chasm and station a couple markscats there. Then build a bridge if you want the bones. So right now my chasm is a hellish maze of bridges and stairs. Fun.

Also, I hope your meals have more than just tallow in them. Remember, if it doesn't have any meat or fish, it's useless except for cooking skill and as a trade good.

I think the cat talk by itself :p Hell, the blowgun is amazing when the enemy cannot reach you :) But blow dart should have a better attack. 10 actually. A bolt is 100, or if you preferred, the same as a sword. So blow dart should be the same as a cat dagger. Just a  consideration like that :D

That will be really interesting when the 10th year came ^^

I kept the blowgun's tiny attack power on purpose. Actually, I'll probably scale down the regular weapons for the next version. Ideally, masterwork steel weapons will be better than feline fangs, but... not by a lot.

Done.

The year was incredibly uneventful. Even the dwarf siege was easy to defeat, since they had no crossbows and decided to camp for months before actually attacking. Blowguns and the traps the last guy built. Nuff said.

I didn't build much. There is now a little watchtower in front of our entrance, and I dug a cattle pit, where I pitted most of the horses and muskoxen running around (I could have used cages, but I needed something to do with all the boredom around.)

the troglos I was first using as an archery range, but decided to clear the last three (all of which had red/yellow injuries) with wrestlers in order of getting their bones, so I dug a little path to the side of the chasm. The troglos killed two of the four wrestlers that I sent to finish them off. Including my first elite wrestler and the Leader that happened to dig the last tile.

And in the winter a kobold thief dared to show his ugly face. He killed our woodcutter (one of the starting seven I assume) and ran off.

When the caravan came I traded most of our crafts for meat, metal and a bunch of cat leather.

Also, I hope your meals have more than just tallow in them. Remember, if it doesn't have any meat or fish, it's useless except for cooking skill and as a trade good.

There should be no more than one unit of tallow in each one, since I had only a single render fat job per lavish meal job. Didn't check though.

Um... I think you forgot something important...

Turns switch off in Autumn. You've only been going half a year.

Also, incidentally, cats will probably start dying of old age around Year 7. Anyone whose named cat dies of old age gets a special award. ;)

Ho great, that mean, no legendary miner for me? Should be interesting, but if everything goes well, the population will be well over 100 :)
