40d/40d11?
« on: October 13, 2009, 11:26:00 am »

Hey, I am trying to use pregenerated worlds and one was apparently generated in 40d11, but on the main page the newest version available is 40d. Is this the correct version, and how do I know exactly which version it is if there are smaller 'increments' than 40d that are not shown?

Proper English will make people take you more serious.
In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.

40d is the last 'official' release. D11 and onwards are just optimised versions of it. They're entirely cross-compatible due to being the same game at the heart of it all, but D11 uses more efficient calculation algorhythms for pathfinding and fluids.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

The 40d# versions of only change the graphics and how it's outputted to the screen and lots of other technical information I don't fully understand. It doesn't improve pathfinding or fluids, or anything else for that matter.
