I should fetch a list of the names of people who caused Ridiculous Mafia I an II to crash. >:[

Well, yes, I know if they GIVE a reason. I'm suggesting if they're run over by an 18-wheeler and in the hospital, a coma, etc. and were in fact unable to anticipate or notify to be lenient. But I'm sure you're not being ironclad about rules in that sense anyway.
SUGGESTION: Table-ize the positive karma bonuses to match the maluses.

Well, it's less hard fast rules and more a generalized matter and to get some idea on how bad certain actions are:

Active lurking, unhelpfulness, and general bad play are not penalized.  Neither is light prodding.
Giving the host some notice of the need to leave gives you nothing of gain or loss
Needing to be prodded regularly then getting replaced results in some penalties, depending on how chronic it gets.
Completely flaking hurts... very very badly.

The host decides it so they can subjectively adapt for the situation (i.e. I had a person to flat out flake, but later on show up  and apologize.  I remarked it to soften the blow.

That's more a matter of skill and technique than actual playing.  Active lurking is actually a tactic (mostly used by scum) as well as small doses of passive lurking (web used that in BM3 near the end).  We're not trying to praise people who help the town win or keep things entertaining.  We're trying to keep track of folks who plain old flake/dissapear and, thus, bring a game to its knees.

Meph actually has the idea best.  #1 use is to watch for folks who have negative karma or who have been playing many many games yet can't break past 0 karma.

I just have my games, the Toon mafia series, Kingmaker mafia, and Para 9 up so far.  There's hosts that need to get talking .

Were they of low activity (thus -1 karma) or did they just completely flake (-5)?

Sidenote: by 'update' I also mean 'give the hosts their credit'. 

If the game you hosted isn't on the 'games played' list, send a post about it.  If the game you played isn't in there, bug the host

Why do I get -karma from Ridiculous Mafia 2? I was the last to post for about 18 days, and then some people showed up and said the game is dead and they wanted the roles revealed. I don't remember if I sent in my night actions or not, but I'm pretty sure I did.

Edit (gotta remind myself this isn't a Mafia ):  Ok, writing as I'm reading.

I tend to read 'active' as posting once a day, btw,, though not doing so isn't exactly 'inactive'.


Cheeetar was active from the start to June 2nd. Two others post, then nothing from anyone for a day.  June 4th, others post up, though not Cheeetar.  after that, silence till Panda's *cough* June 8th.  June 12th A post is made to request No Lynch.  Cheeetar is the second to post then.  No Lynch called, Night occurs.

Day 2, June 19th.  IT's ALIVE!  Lots of activity.  Cheeetar's first post is on the 21st, then Complete Silence for about 19 days.

By then, yah.. dead thread. 


Inalulct and a few others, it seems, was a big reason why this one died.  Folks kept referencing them or wanting them to talk but they never showed.  That causes the questioners to go quiet while they wait for answers.  A chain reaction occurs soon after.

As for Cheeetar, he didn't flake, but he went inactive a good few times when the game was still going on.  -5 is a bit much compared to what some of the other folks did.  There were three times before the game died that Cheeetar could've posted but didn't.  I'll mark those as 'prods'.  First one is free, second and third get marked. 

Thus, I'd put it at -3 Karma.

Updating accordingly, but note that my word is NOT the final say.  Host gets the final word if he has a reasonable explanation for it.
