Hey Frumple. I don't know if you need to hear this but.

I think you're very great for taking care of your grandparents, and that is very admirable, it really is.

But you're a fun and great person aside from that too, on your own self, and I am glad to have you here on the forums in the limited way we know each other. And I hope you can feel that you are valued and worthy in your own self too. Because you are.

Indeed; taking care of the infirm - especially the mentally infirm - takes an impressive amount of resolve.  My father-in-law is pretty high-functioning but it's still a massive burden... so I feel probably only a small bit of your exhaustion.

I hit my head so hard yesterday on a cupboard that my hands were shaking a short while after. Wanted to cry but was hosting friends so continued to make them tea. Still in pain today. Ouch. No serious concussion symptoms. Just pain.

I cannot begin to explain the depths of my antipathy for job searches.

I hate it with every fibre of my being. The interview's fine, if a bit nerve-wracking, but the actual searching, inputting details etc.? Loathe it.

You're in the company of basically the entire world, for what it's worth. If there's anyone that doesn't dislike that mess, I've never heard them say it out loud.

I can't find the motivation to do anything.

I want to make Calderia, but I feel so discouraged to even try. I halfheartedly try to something of use, and just give up, return after an hour or two, and give up again.

I want to bike I can't find the energy to do that either.

I guess I need rest? But I've been ''resting'' for days now. Surely now is the time to do things.

I'm ill with... something. We're now trying to determine if it's run-of-the-mill anxiety that's just making me imagine new symptoms, or if they're actual symptoms and anxiety's a side effect. Or they're unrelated.

If it's something physically wrong, the symptoms mostly line up with hyperthyroidism, so if it's that at least it's easily treatable.

I mean… easily in the sense that treatment is readily available, but you are messing with your hormones which can have side effects.

My mum had hyperthyroidism, and was given medicine to deal with it, but she was so unhappy with how she felt because of it she opted to have her thyroid removed. Admittedly this was decades ago and things may have improved since then, but be aware it may not be as easy as you think.

Eh, modern generally involves thyroid hormone suppressants combined with blood tests so you can work out what the optimal dose is. I imagine there's occasional blood tests because your levels can fluctuate, especially if the cause is progressive.

Otherwise they can cut a lump of it out to lower levels, or they can give you some radioactive iodine since that'll accumulate in the thyroid and kill off bits of it, and thyroid cancer's generally rare and very treatable so the radiation's unlikely to give you serious issues.
