Because seriously, if you got the chance, why would you value loyalty to those who can't help you versus the temptations of those who might?

To be fair it did take me a while to figure that one out. My first thought was mates before mates, which doesn’t really work, and then mucks before fucks which probably doesn’t even make sense (mucker being a slang term for friend, I don’t think is ever shortened to muck).

Took my brain a long while after that to get to dates.
