She's heavily implied that she's not the only woman he's been "predatory" towards. I wouldn't let it stop me from enjoying his music until verification comes from some of them.

What I'm guessing is the situation here, is that this guy didn't actually view it as a rape, doesn't see himself as a rapist. He pressured her to have sex, they had sex. She viewed it as a rape, he viewed it as her acquiescing. I'm not taking sides here, what I'm doing is pointing out that the same event, which could be demonstrably shown to have actually occurred can have very different viewpoints from the two participants.

When the pressure to have sex is psychological and not physical, that is a grey area as far as the legal definition of rape goes, however it's easy to see how some people would consider it rape, and others not.

I suspect as much as well. I found it interesting that she never described the rape, nor what led up to it, especially considering the otherwise highly detailed account. It was probably a fling after one of their weekend dates where she felt pressured.

But we don't really know anything. The only thing that could convince me now is if others come forward, because the way she describes it it is endemic. Until then, words are cheap; a harsh axiom, but unfortunately also the truth.

You're right there. Predatory rapists are very rarely one-time offenders. It's a pattern, and they tend to have a string of victims.

I mean the correct thing to do is not come to a conclusion until or unless more information comes to light.

No need to jump to a yes or no as soon as an accusation of anything comes to light.

People also don't generally benefit from making the accusation, and usually suffer because of it. If she's making the accusation in a public way, odds are she's tried in a quiet fashion and got silenced.

This, pretty much. Especially coming from the woman at the center of Gamer Gate. It's surprising, for her own well-being, both mental and physical, that she's made such a public statement. I believe her.

Now, normally I don't wish death upon people. I'm really, really not that kind of person.

Boris? Yeah, if he was found to have died from a stroke overnight I'd be actively happy at this point, since he's decided democracy is only good if it goes his way.

Sorry for being an ignorant, but is that Boris Johnson? I saw he's been in the news in a negative light but hadn't gotten a chance to read anything.

Yep. Guy decided that since our parliamentary democracy is getting in the way of a no-deal brexit (Should be noted that there isn't a majority for that. There was (And maybe still is or maybe isn't, depending on the accuracy of the polling) for a brexit, but not no-deal) he'll suspend parliamentary democracy, riding on the wave of "This is what you voted foooooooooooooor!"

It's just... Gah. Maybe the UK needs this to make people more politically aware, we've been getting raw dogged by politicians for the last decade at the very least and the collective response has been either "Meh" or "We need to do something" followed by nothing except maybe a day long protest that makes barely impact because it's only lasted a day.

I mean, I'll cross post my response from the Europol thread:

Quote
I think you're being somewhat harsh. The political class is largely the same everywhere, though admittedly with slight variations depending on culture. Also, I doubt Johnson wants to be a dictator. I get the impression he's being politically expedient and sees it as a way to buy himself two weeks' breathing room. It's a break in which he can develop and propose his own, rather than Mays', legislative plans to parliament.

Though I'd also like to add that you were a fervent supporter of the bid to hold a second referendum when the first didn't go quite as planned. In that light

Alternatively, dress up as a sexy gay pirate.

Why?

Hey, don't look at me. I don't have all the answers.
