*sigh*

So I was unwittingly linked to a video of a gamergate conspiracy theorist, and now youtube has decided I have a special interest in the subject.

I fear I´m going to be clearing my youtube feed of bullshit for the next few days.   ::)

Yeah, don't forget the "not interested" option under the three dots.
I'm all for being exposed to other opinions, sometimes, but it's amazing how checking out just 2-3 videos from a popular yet academically bankrupt clickbaiter can fill my feed for so long.  I think it's mostly because a function of the channel already being famous...  But possibly also that I bothered to "dislike".  People say that on Youtube any engagement is good engagement (playing off the "publicity" truism) and I believe it in general, but maybe even on a per-viewer level.

Bothering to leave a comment is, obviously, proof that I am interested in viewing this channel for the rest of time.

Deleting vids from your watched history helps a lot

Fuck it, just watch one video and suddenly have every single recommend video turn into something from "The Liberty Watchdog" or whatever the hell it's called.

Don't even need to watch it all the way through, just click on it inadvertently and suffer the consequences for weeks to come.

But yes, saying Not Interested -> Fuck This Profile In Particular does help a lot.  Alternatively, start watching ASMR videos for relaxation... They love to clog up your recommendations, and it's at least usually not too offensive.

Precisedly. That is the problem.

Moreover, apparently it uses the preferences of whoever usually likes the video you unwittingly clicked, so it starts shoving into your feed bizarre alt-right videos.

I think I have managed to cleanse it after brutally suppressing all of the "suggestions".

The best part is if you hit up the right video it will start spamming you with videos about how they are suppressing those other videos that it used to spam you with.

Looks like Aretha Franklin is on the decline, not completely unexpected but very sad, she's an amazing singer and an amazing person, and I'll be sorry to see her go.

Probably because she basically personified her whole era, so when the era passed, we just assumed that she'd gone with it.

At least she didn't end up like James Brown, withering away on stage while trying desperately to clutch at his glory days again... That was really just sad to watch.

I thought I was having a stroke for a moment there - I couldn't parse your sentence.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
