There are many temporary distractions from misery, but the only cure is people.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

I didn't know just wanting to have a normal life like literally everyone I'm surrounded by was some impossible quest for happiness I'm supposed to tone the fuck down.

Fuck, we are all in bad places. Sometimes I feel my pitiful problems are so idiotic compared to you guys. I mean sure I hunger and feel incredible frustration and face tons of practical problems, but despite that I'm happy, have a healthy son, a loving wife and the demons in my head are just shouting "survive the fuck out of the situation" so they are too busy to torment me I guess.

If any of you feel particularly bad any day feel free to pm me. Not much I can really do but give you a compresive ear, words of advice and perhaps tips to survive an apocalypse. If I were a girl and single I would show you my boobs to cheer you up hahahaha

Today is a particularly good day to me, filled with expectations for tomorrow I migth have all our papers to get to the next step of emigrating. However there's always this voice whispering "no, you won't make it", that is really annoying. I guess not all the demons are busy rooting for me?

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I've actually done this, somewhat unwittingly. A combo of Viagra, not-exactly-Prozac-as-I've-moved-off-of-that-but-it's-another-SSRI, whatever beta blockers I had in my system, and some craft(-is-German-for-power-that's-why-it's-11.3%) beer to top it all off.

It's not nearly as entertaining as it sounds. I basically just got drunk but with extra boredom, and then I went to bed and fell asleep.

I did, however, get to learn that there's legitimately a thing called "post-urinary hypotension", just in case you thought our bodies couldn't get any more bizarre.

I didn't know just wanting to have a normal life like literally everyone I'm surrounded by was some impossible quest for happiness I'm supposed to tone the fuck down.

watch your tone there, friend. we're all very much willing to give you advice while you're in a difficult place - which we're conviced you're in, when you say things like "I have nothing" or "fuck this planet, I can never understand it" - but don't mistake that for unconditional love. A lot of us have been in some pretty shit places in life, and won't take kindly to you lashing out.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious that you're worried about a bit more than having a normal life; you're deeply unhappy, man, and we just want to help you get somewhere where you won't feel like horrific garbage anymore. If you don't really feel like that, well, everybody needs to vent sometimes, and we might have blown this out of proportion a bit. If you do, well...

I had fantasies about quitting, but I knew I wouldn't.  It was enough to have the option, simply to not be trapped.

Honestly same, although my fantasies were less "kill myself" and more... well, I have friends all over. If the stress gets so bad I can't handle it, or if my parents or brother (people I love so, so much) were to die, I have places I can go to start over, to quit and try something else. Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey, I've got contacts all the fuck over.

My physician I really like, who made a big difference in my life, is going to lose the right to work in this country next week.  Because of recent policies aiming to reduce the ability of legal immigrants to become citizens.  She’s been in America so long that if she returns to Grenada she’ll be a second class citizen there too.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

The anti immigrant hysteria has really gone beyond just what could be excused as mere practical concerns into full on unthinking xenophobia.

That sucks for people like me. Personally I don't mean to burn your woman, steal your houses and rape your horses or anything.

I can't imagine swimming while drunk!  I'm not hydrophobic, but like...  Drowning is terrifying, and natural water is full of things, and... ugh, why would I do that with my guard down at all.  I guess people swim to relax, but for me it's adventurous heh.

I've done it before, but i'm a pretty good swimmer. I don't really do it anymore, unless i'm in, like, a hot tub.

I wouldn't be Swedish if I didn't go swimming drunk at least ten times a year.

Yup I live between two tourist lakes and there isn't a summer that goes by without an unsurveiled child, handicapped or drunk that drowns.

I mean, are these tourist lakes for recovering alcoholic disabled children?

Oxford commas are your friend :P though I’m glad you didn’t, just for the imagery.
