Anyway: I've met with potential-housemate about 5 times now, over two months, and last meeting went really well.  But there were about 420 difficulties between him and his friend (my housemate), also we hadn't cleaned.

Well, today was apparently another planned meetup after two whole weeks, but my housemate fricken forgot to tell me until 5 hours prior.  And I'm riding a buzz to get some shit done (and recharge willpower).  This isn't a good time.

Plan A: Let things be, get back to time-sensitive shit that actually matters.
Plan B: Attend and choke down my buzz.  When to even admit that I'm a dirty homo would probably ruin everything.

Plan Satan: Down this half-pint of wine and ride along.

... Yeah, I think I'll beg off.  Decline.  I told housemate I was busy, and it's true.

Edit:  The main sad is "Maybe I could have finagled this income stream when I was sober".  And maybe I could have.  But it'd involve playing false against a zealot, so is that really something to regret?  Not really.
And if he *does* still join us, more power to him!  I am excessively private IRL, nothing will be "in his face".

*I* don't smoke the weed, except once a year *if that*, not last two years.
Because I fear the state.  So, alcohol, which is more harmful and less interesting.

Thunder rumbles as I sit at home, scribing for work.

I chose the right path over the fun path.  And I have no illusions: that fundie will reject his best friend in the entire world.  He'll wander off into the cult of Jehovah.  C'est l'vie.
No amount of lying could have fixed that situation.

You know those memes about people waking up and disappointed they're still alive?

I don't know what's with me this week but that's how  feel. Every day I wake up and realize how kuch shit I need to do, some far I will have to go yet before I get what I want. The weight of my abitions and potential crushing down with every moment I just want to be alive. I live in a world that tolerates no happiness unless you're willing to fight for it. I'm fighting a futile battle.

Maybe I'll get to where I want one day, but does it really matter? Is it worth all this pain?

In the end I'd still die and be lost to history. I'll never matter except to the present.

And the present is disappointingly mundane.

I'm not sure whether to give up or to have this anger at it all keep me going out of spite. I', mot sure which move would be more rebellious. But then again, it's not like I'm fighting a sentient foe. Does spite really matter against this mindless monster of reality and random chance? Does giving up matter?

There's no winning move against the void. Whatever you do, you look like an idiot. You look like a generic. A sheep.

Life will always have its ups and downs. The ups are what makes it all worth it. There are always those downs, though. You just have to fight through them, or endure, or whatever tactic works for you... and you get back to the ups again.

Find someone to talk to. I wouldn't mind, assuming you don't mind talking to a random bloke on the internet. A therapist would be better.
