I've bitten my own fingernails off and ripped them out with pliers before. Headaches are certainly worse. The only thing that is on par with a terrible headache is when you go in for toe surgery and get a needle right where all your nerve endings are, that shit is horrible. It's why I opt for just yanking them out.

Guy in the Netherlands saved all his plastic trash for 1000 days, and with the help of volunteers, sorted it out and put it on display.
Damn, that's just 1 person's plastic, for somewhat less than 3 years.

I wear out a pair of shoes every 6-8 months. That's 4.5-6 pairs in 3 years.

Nrrgh.  I have an ongoing *thing* with my mom where she wants me to have nice shoes.  And I hate nice shoes.   I have always done a mix of cross country and hiking (and occasionally cycling, which has its own cleated shoes) with my excess energy.

New shoes are raw and wear their price on them, painfully.  I break them in as soon as possible.  Viciously.
Dress shoes are their own terrible thing I have to deal with, as an adult.  Along with suit and such.

My current pair of hybrid hiking/boots has served me well in my hybrid lifestyle, for at least 3 years now.  My last pair had gaping visible gaps - I had dress shoes for dicks who saw that as some negative.  I miss those well-worn hybrid boots.  I bought the exact same brand and type.

It was my money, not sure why I cared that my mom disapproved :P  Family, amirite.

Edit:  These shoes are made for walking ;D

Hum :-\ I am sad that my country still has bigotry, hypocrisy, and anti-thoughtfulness. Thanks Spanish Conquistadores for this kind of culture waaaaay back.

Their acts are pretty contrary. >_> Things like these are why we can't get a progressive country in that context.
Where is God for us, who are lesser among the commons? Not among those people.

I wouldn't know for certain, of course, but I feel like modern US would be more to blame for that than history. If you looked at groups like these's finances I bet you'd find large contributions from American groups.

Lost my wonderful sunglasses somewhere whilst drunk on the weekend.
I can't even really comprehend how upset that makes me. They were awesome. Why do I suck so badly at managing my belongings?
