O boy. So i figured i'd browse Youtube for Oni's soundtrack, and found the final boss music. I fucking love this track in so many ways, and it brings back nice (and sort of angry) memories from 16 years ago, but it also makes me miss those times even though school was a goddamn nightmare. It also makes me realize that i'm more comfortable reminiscing about the past than i am at trying to actually live my life and make it better. That's kinda scary. I'm a creature of comfort, and i tend to get stuck in "comfortable". When i eventually die, i fear that i'll be full of regret caused by missed opportunities and all the things i didn't do that i could have done and wanted to do, but were too comfortable in inaction to actually do. What i do right now can hardly be called living, it's more existing and passing time. Hard to do more than that when i don't even know myself properly.
Ooh yes!
I never got that far in Oni (I'm all thumbs on consoles!  Even PS2, my favorite!) but that was a dang fun game.

And now I'm sad, because Bungie made even better games before it got bought bought by Microsoft...  to make their flagship product.  They were a MAC and PS2 shop, but money.  And so it goes, I suppose...

(Marathon is my favorite, or may Pathways Into Darkness... but they made other stuff too, like Oni)

@Yoink:Can we send you money then?
Aw, thanks... but I'd feel weird accepting money from kindly internet people to fuel my weekend partying. :P

Well I guess it's not just the weekend, it's next fortnight as well, but eh, I'll get a loan.

I can't remember the last time I was well-rested. I wake up and feel fine for maybe an hour, then the tiredness sets in again. Soreness too.

Most people talk, sincerely or not, about fear of dying alone. I'm starting to fear dying surrounded by people I can't stand. Everywhere I go I'm surrounded by fucking people. However shitty and podunk my high school was, there were places on campus I could go to not be bothered. I blast my ears out with music almost 24/7 because that's the closest I can ever get to genuine alone time any more.

Try the library?  Might be quieter there.

I actually laughed out loud at that. What a ridiculous thing to put.

Man, up late doing stupid things that would never happen in the real world because school requires it. Been a while since I've had that. And by a while, I mean pushing two years. Use git for version control etcetera? Sure, I guess in principle I'm down with that. But I'm the only one working on this project and I wrote three classes, the rest are sourced from elsewhere. Git isn't exactly super useful here.

Write a makefile? Sure, good idea in principle. Unfortunately, no-one sane uses make with Java. It's a recipe for disaster on many levels.

Do unit testing with JUnit? Sure, good idea in principle. Did I mention I only wrote three classes? They're short ones, too.

Can these people not drive themselves or walk?

Because either way, you, as driver-person, have the unambiguous right to stop carying them around.

I suggest headphones/earplugs.

Yeah if these people can walk/take care of themselves, then you can tell them to do so. It'd be great for both your and their health.

They cannot drive, I'm the only one with a license, and the places they want to go too were not in walking distance.
And I can tell them no, but listening to complaining is worse.

I wish I had headphones, but they'd probably complain about that, too. Plus I don't have my iPod anymore. (it got lost)

In any case, I'm back home (again) and trying to rest again.

Mafia was making me angry, but I had an addiction. So I left the forum for a while to cut off my mafia source. I get invited back because a replacement was needed for a perplexicon game, which I gladly accepted, but now that I'm back I look at my "show new replies" and most of it is mafia threads from before I left... I am frightened, confused, and don't want to get sucked into that spiral again, and the reminder of who I was/am is making me sad.

Maybe some fresh air and a bit of sunlight might help?
