In all seriousness, just (easier said than done, etc.) pick a moment when she doesn't look busy and say, "Hi! I'm X! I hear you like Y!" Waiting for the right moment will waste everyone's time. It'll also probably never happen.

Meh, it's probably for the best. I'm going to be leaving for college next year and a relationship like this would've been weird.

Still, though, I'm still somewhat at a loss for words, and I can't help but beat myself up over the crippling shyness on my part that led to this.

I've been a wreck for a few days now. I don't even have a good reason, I'm just depressed. I am very lucky that my college has a short break (week long or so) break, because i am at 0% productivity currently. Not 10%, 0%. Even basic stuff like getting to sleep and remembering to eat lunch and dinner has been hard. I haven't even been able to chat with my roommates either, I just give one-word answers. And my head hurts from lack of sleep.

I need to do one thing today for my professor (I was supposed to have done it earlier, but I just... didn't) and then I might just sleep. nothing good will come from today.

It... depends.  I'm so sorry.
I kept it a secret until I at least stood some chance of surviving on my own.  Which may have been the right choice, my dad still thinks it's a "phase".  After which I didn't bother ever telling my mom.

If you have tight friends, maybe they should know... if you trust them.  I did feel a whole lot better after telling them, because they actually had a choice regarding me. 

As for family, I'd play it safe.  ):

I'm just kind of terrified of being alone again,  I don't want my friends to leave me once they find out. It might be best if I tell them but I don't really want to risk it, they seem ok with it in passing conversation but I really don't know.

That's how it was for me, too.  And for me it worked out alright.
I kinda tested the waters eventually, bringing up topics and gauging their reactions, until I felt sure enough to check with one of them privately.  And once I knew he was with me, I not only felt better, I was more ready to come out to the others.

It's not easy...

Thank you, I guess I'll try bringing it up a bit more and maybe I'll be able to tell them. I hope I can actually tell them, I just kind of feel I can't talk to anyone at the moment.

Lately I'm jealous and even kind of bitter towards people that have functioning families with both parents alive, let alone present, and siblings that like and support eachother
