The world is shit, and I'm too shit to fix it, so what's the fuckin' point.

Nein gut.

Why is it your responsibility to fix the world anyway?

That's demonstrably false.

Why is it your responsibility?

i'm scared for the future.  for whatever's going to happen november 8th, 2016.  for what happens after that happens.  maybe scared isn't a good word.  maybe i'm just...resigned that the world i live in feels like it's crashing down around me.  and i can't do anything to fix it.

That's demonstrably false.

Why is it your responsibility?
Because I'm human.

...I'm feeling slightly better now.  Thank you, everyone, you know who you are.

ALso me being a douche aside, people are trying to make the world a better place. A lot of people are doing that. Even some people who might be making the world a worse place actually do it out of their desire to better the world, and I do believe that deep inside most of us want to do good, and as we strive to learn, to be the best person we can be, that is all it takes to make this world good. Maybe not perfect, but that's just because of how humans are wired to think. Sure, you cleaning your room, volunteering, or any other things to help other people might not cause the ISIS to evaporate, or for world hunger to disappear, but you're making a difference, a difference that will culminate in the big picture to make the world a little better.

Think that you are insignificant if you will, but even the lowliest cog works to further the grand scheme.

I think you're being pretty helpful, it's just that when people are in the sad thread they want to mope more than actually fix themselves.

Nobody says you aren't, or are even uncapable of doing that. Impressions are not conclusions.
You have helped certain people a lot more than what you think from those impressions you've got that wrote this quote.
And people aren't cogs. They're the whole ensemble. Don't belittle your own capacity just because you don't feel it.

I think you're being pretty helpful, it's just that when people are in the sad thread they want to mope more than actually fix themselves.
They want to express, rather than that "actually fix themselves" bit, seems more likely.
Because there are many times wherein people may not have outlets presented to them that directly helps their situation, so possible areas to vent out the stress are used.

That's demonstrably false.

Why is it your responsibility?
Because I'm human.

There are over 7 billion humans on Earth.

Why your responsibility?

I don't believe that.  That I'm actually helpful for more than a few people on occasion.  I just can't see it...

Significance is really a matter of perspective. How significant do you want to be?
