I beg to differ!  I ate *so* much meat and sugar when I was in high school, I was just bicycling every day (and more on the weekends).  Exercise is frankly more important than diet.

This one didn't want to be who they was. On the Surface – it was a dull, unconsidered sadness. But everything changed. Which implied everything could change.

It's generally easier to eat less calories than it is to work off a significant excess. Most people don't have the time, let alone the base level of fitness, to begin exercising to create a caloric deficit on an unhealthy diet.

EDIT: Not to say don't do one or do more of the other. Obviously the most effective solution is to do both, but some people like to exercise more than others, and some people are better at watching what they eat, so find a balance that fits.

This hit me hard, and I'm not sure who or what to believe right now.

It's a long read, if it matters to you. I just... don't know.

My eyes hurt from staring at screens too long. I need to get outside and experience life again, but all my 'friends' are suddenly extremely busy when I propose we hang out. So it's a choice of being lonely at the library, with shitty wifi and random strangers peeking at my screen, or being lonely at home in my pajamas in my bed.

I just made two of my good internet friends get together, and third-wheeled myself like an idiot.

Good fucking job me.

It also reminded me of how undesirable I am, and how the girl I have this crush on will probably reject me.

And the thing is, I'm too emotionally exhausted to cry, so I'm just stuck in this huge fucking frown mode.

like this: :C

I'm really happy for them, but

I just made myself sad.

Heh. After spending 10 minutes crying on the floor in the fetal position, and contemplating suicide with this electric razor, (both for a number of reasons combined) I don't think I'm strong enough to do anything.

I can't shake off this feeling that I'm utterly insignificant and will never amount to anything.

Well, no, that's not the problem since that's the truth. It s just that I can't help but have it get under my skin.

:-\
Strength isn't in the ability to hurt oneself, it's to hold onto hope and get through with problems. The mere instance that you're comparing strength and action shows you that you aren't the kind of person who would go through with certain things--you're strong enough to support yourself through your lowest times; don't give into 'probablies' because they aren't 'actuallies'.

Go for talking with her. :) And take care of yourself too! Many people have their PM boxes open if you'd like to talk personally.

I can't shake off this feeling that I'm utterly insignificant and will never amount to anything.

That's your pessimism speaking again. It's not 'the truth'. It may be a self-proclaimed truth because of pressure and a lot of personal perception, but it is not the truth.
That feeling only has meaning if you bring meaning to it. :-\ And usually those feelings come from learning; you can re-learn what you perceive about yourself in your self-worth and effort. Your beliefs in that context affect what you think about yourself in the future as well as the present.

But there's no standard that makes you utterly insignificant and denies your worth at all; merely words themselves.

Gods save me from people that can't seem to muster the effort to pay any attention to what they say. Buncha' people around me right now trying to help each other and just managing to piss each other off because they apparently can't bring themselves to phrase things so it's not viewed as an attack by other parties. Is... is basic tone control and even mildly considered word choice really that hard?

Like. No, you don't say, "You need to do X (right now)", not when you're dealing with a(n equally) competent adult (or anyone, really, but that's a different subject), you say, "Hey, have you remembered to X?" or "Can I help you X, or do you have it alright?" Stuff like that; support, cooperation, concern, not imperatives and dominant phrasing. And for the non-existent gods sakes, even if you are annoyed don't let the freaking annoyance come through the voice. It never helps! Tone shift, moderate volume (which, okay, I understand that's difficult for some of the ones in question, because they refuse to use the hearing aids they have and badly need), just... make sure you're not coming off as aggressive or angry, because all that does it make people defensive and also angry, nobody ends up happy, and all too often no one ends up better in the end even though the intent was to give (often badly needed!) aid to friends and family. And coming off as aggressive and/or angry is like 75% or better just tone of voice and choice of word (the rest is posture and mannerisms). the percentages are asspulled, of course, but the point conveys

And the biggest bastard of all of it is trying to communicate that sort of thing to people convinced they don't have trouble with it and that the problem is entirely due to the other parties involved. S'like... no, when both parties involved are pissed off largely due how the other is talking to them, we have what is called a mutual problem :-\

Well, she's interested in someone else. She doesn't know I like her, but she told me about the girl she's interested in. I guess I am just destined to be the comic relief good friend who doesn't get a romantic character arc.

If anyone wants to talk, my PM box is always open. Always.

In other news, I've managed to disappoint my parents because my grades aren't B's and A's. Instead, my lazy and forgetful self decided to not do it/forgot about it. So I got close to F's this last semester. FML.
