that's because the two of you never were in a romantic relationship, so people don't see it as a big deal (even though it is a big deal)
Yeah, proably.

Though I still would claim there was something, especially since she also admitted it (and apparently had a guilt trip when she got into argument with the current boyfriend and then went for a drink with one of her friends (which in turn said it was my fault and I should do something about it...) which ended in her getting a bit more intoxicated than she should be) but... that doesn't really change anything. We haven't spoken since January and even that was nothing more than "Hi", which we don't even say anymore. We just evade each other in akward silience and that's proably for the best... sometimes I just miss her so much despite that I see her way more often than I would want.

If nothing is expected of you but a failure, an angsty drain on others, hostile, xenophobic, and hateful of people trying to help, no matter what you do to prove that's not who you are, why the hell should you waste more effort trying to change an opinion that will never change, and why not instead raise hell and cause misery just like what's expected of you? Why not, instead of striving to be a good person, even looking back at the wasted effort from years before, strive to be the complete monster that you're thought to be?

If I'm expected to play the villain to everyone, should I?

I sometimes get this feeling too. It's very hard to combat it, though I managed  for now. I am afraid that one day I will snap, and I am even more afraid that when I do I will no longer feel restraint from anything else, like punching people in face for no good reason.

Or worse.

The answer to that particular conundrum is to be a good person to prove them wrong. Because being awful to people, hitting and screaming and etc, it doesn't feel good. You'd think it would what with how often people sometimes do it, but it actually makes you feel horrible afterwards. Like immediately afterwards. And it sticks.

Basically be good for your own sake, not anyone else. Because they may not care, but being good is good for you, and indulging in hateful actions is corrosive on the mind.

"The contract will be ready today".

yeah. sure.  ::)

You know, it would be kind of nice to be able to do something vaguely reminiscent to what I came here to do before the rotation is over...

I can't say too much right now.

But my little brother has passed on.

Still don't know whether it was cancer or something else.

But I think these two words sum it up best: "Death Sucks".

I am so sorry to hear that. And yes, death really does suck.

My condolences.

Oh... oh dear. :c

Goodbye, flabort's brother. You will be dearly missed, even by those who have never met you.

And flabort, my dearest sympathies to you and your family.

The world really is rotten, isn't it? Not much to say, since I've never talked to you before, but my condolences, whatever they're worth.

Yeah that sucks. My sympathies.

...

My sad is that Work and Income wants me to do six weeks' worth of voluntary work before they'll give me a benefit. RIP finances.

The world really is rotten, isn't it? [+earlier ruminations on being what they say you are]
Nah, it isn't. These things happen.

If I'm expected to play the villain to everyone, should I?
Why should you, first of all? So what if they keep calling you trash + crappy adjectives to the superlative degree? Do they define you? They define your actions or how others saw them, for me.
This all goes under conceptual knowledge--in the timeline we all have called Life, our experiences follow what first comes to us, and what we experience later on. If we indulge in believing we are [some kind of negative idea that is obviously superficial], then that becomes a concept that conflicts with our identity of the self, especially because those descriptions only happen when people try to describe attitude (but then connect it to the person instead). This is my sad, particularly in how communications works in that context. Instead of "Your attitude isn't good dude -_-", there goes the idea of "You're a horrible person."

Blunt and rough as that is, it isn't necessarily only on 'what others tell you'. This also holds for intrusive and superficial thoughts! Thoughts that come and demean you because you heard or had that concept thrown at you or at your quality of worksmanship before--not all thoughts should be listened to, especially if they're negative and all they carry is a poke to your self-esteem. These can't be turned off entirely, but they can be challenged. Even if you can't challenge the people currently, you can always challenge the thoughts that you mull on. And that's usually the first step to actually getting anywhere. Challenging these things is the spirit and core essence of how thoughts work--conceptual knowledge is based on what we first sense, then what we perceive (give meaning to what we sense), then how we apply it after processing that information. You don't have to believe negative thoughts just because you thought about it. There's no limitation to what one can think other than limitations to what one is exposed to.

I mean, what's the sense of striving to be a bad person because 'that's what's expected of you'? When that becomes the main idea in mind, that's time for reflection. It's demeaning to be expected to be a bad person. Maybe they're just (roughly or indirectly) describing how you acted back then. Sometimes certain people tell you you're a bad person because they don't know how to directly approach attitude. Sometimes they tell you that because they want you to be aware of your actions. Many ways how to see that: It's bound to context. :O

Because personally, if I believed that paragraph there one bit, I wouldn't be here to say any of this. :P I'm barraged by thoughts of condescending ideas, being self-criticized that my work ain't good enough, touched by notions that I won't ever be seen as I am, and to all of that I say Nu. Because at least, in my thoughts--which applies for anything being told to me since it always needs to get processed in thoughts--that's where I can control and understand what I see.

You can make your own expectations too, y'know. :P And they don't have to align with what others tell you if what others tell you is basically less than who you really are.

the fact that every politician in this country blame the dictatorship we had for every damm problem..
even problems that date to the original Spanish mindset.
seriously we have social ills dating back to the 1500´s still manifesting on this society and ¨culture¨.
namely the treatment of women and the obsession with knifes.

you would have to live here to get what i mean with the original Spanish mindset.
its a rather complex and long thing to explain.
for an easy way it is related to the original Spanish settlers we had as founders here, they hailed from the south of Spain.
later we had basque peps arriving and improving the place, bringing skilled craftsmen, administrators and traders.
but the thing is that several cultural aspects of those southern Spanish founders remain, related to architecture, cuisine and other such cultural items.
