Today is like Global Depression Prevention day, no? Well, doesn't fucking seem so, I already got ridiculously mad and sad in an hour. Fuck love, who needs this bloody shit.

My natural response to being lonely is to become more reclusive and it really fucking sucks.

It doesn't matter, the batteries for gold and silver cartridges are going to be on their last legs no matter where you look these days.

You can either replace the battery, or just resort to emulation.
Had no idea the cartridges even HAD batteries.
And I'm guessing they're probably some special battery that is now 9000 dollars because they don't make them anymore?
And where the hell would you even PUT the battery?

Older cartridges (Pre-DS) used Battery Backed RAM to store their saves. This means that, once the a battery goes out, the data goes away once the power is turned off. The good thing is that it is a cheap CR2025 watch battery (for Game Boy and Game Boy color games, not sure about other consoles) that costs a dollar, and it isn't a difficult repair to make. The only difficult part is removing the security screw on the back of the cartridge, this can be done with tweezers or a heated ink pen case (you shove it on the screw while the plastic is hot and soft, it will cool into a makeshift screwdriver. The battery on the cart will be soldered, all you have to do is carefully break the connection with tweezers, swap out the battery, and either tape or (VERY carefully) solder it in alignment.

MacGyver would use a god-damned lemon to power his Pokemon, that's what he'd do!

MacGyver would use a god-damned banana to power his Pokemon, that's what he'd do!
Because banana's have atomic power, and MacGyver probably knows some way to initiate fusion from them.

Once you start getting into soldering things, it starts being a difficult repair to make in my mind.

Read it carefully. YOu dont have to solder anything. Duct tape will do.

Not duct tape. Duct tape is conductive. Duck tape is fine, though.

I've fucked myself royally by not keeping professors in the loop about personal issues. Why am I so shitty about telling when I'm in trouble or need help?

Yeah, it'll do until it ends up melting inside the cartridge or just loses its consistency and the battery wiggles its way out and you lose all your data again anyway.

So not only am I having problems with the pokemans, but now the internet decided to start being mean to me and refuse to load anything I would like to do. Namely it refuses to load more then about 2 minutes of Gate on Crunchyroll.

I hate this pseudo-depression that happens when everything I want to do atm gets closed off for varying reasons, and then I'm left blankly staring at my machine full of 100s of games for hours doing nothing. There's no logical fucking reason I can't just load up something else, but I just don't want to, I wanna fucking play pokemon or watch Gate dammit!

Don't worry, it's a common issue, especially if you're the kind of person who doesn't like making a fuss. I've neglected to mention what could have been serious issues (they weren't, thank God) to my family on occasion.

It's a tough thing to get over. Especially since the standard (Especially if you're a guy but it applies to girls too) is that if you show weakness you're an overemotional wimp, which is obviously bullshit.

I just really don't like causing a fuss, and especially not after the meltdown I had last quarter, when people are more on guard. But this is exactly the kind of thinking that I shoot myself in the foot with every time.
