Also, I always thought "frick" meant the same as "frig". Huh. I wondered why my strict mother treated it as a worse swear when I was a wee lad... I always assumed it was just the harsher sound of the word.

To add further confusion to the discussion, I've usually written trans* with a hyphen, e.g. 'trans-woman'. This way the words are both compounded and disparate. I don't really have an argument for it, though; I just find it intuitive.
