"Soooo... This guy considers Canada a pile of useless debris and is looking forward to casting Meteor Swarm on it?"
If they're jumping to conclusions that quickly, I hope they never stumble across my anime screenshots folder.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

And once you've done everything except die, what will you do then?  ;)
There's a short story about that exact concept, but I forget what it's called.

E: God's Debris is the name. Apparently it's still saved in a random folder on my desktop, along with the Canadian Privacy Act, the Charter of the Commonwealth, and an index of spells in D&D 3.5.
Oh yeah, by the Dilbert guy. Concept's cool, but I found the actual in-story argument a pile of dogshit and didn't finish it, IIRC>

Re: Immortality.

Yeah, suicide may sound attractive if you're someone who doesn't age (using that phrase instead of immortal to highlight the stabability of your frail meatsack).
However.
I personally would have a massive issue with it as my current reason for living is in order to be an observer. It's a long story.
Regardless, if I were to get immortality somehow, and I was unique in having it, it'd basically go against the grain to kill myself.
Living recklessly, however... Well.

I'd not even think of that even if I was immortal :P
Because it's illogical. It's like limiting your own perception of existence by going 'Oh. This is all I can do? Meh.'
I mean, eww. >_> That's it?
I'd rather push the current subtle and/or intangible limits of livelihood and do a ton more in life!
Like understanding boredom, while thinking about it over a cup of tea or water, as one minor example.

Do some stuff again?
Seriously though, this. Unless you're explicitly presuming no memory loss at all, which is not implicitly included in immortality, then after you, say, finish cataloging the aesthetic history of human toenails or whatever random time-consuming quest you embark on, you will have already forgotten the plot of ten books you enjoyed and so will be able to re-read them again (I know *I* used to read the same book several times, or gotten back into Oblivion recently, partially due to Prequel).

And that's not counting all the new stuff that happens in the meantime. I think that argument hinges on an imaginary projection to a state where you've literally just finished enjoying every single little thing, all at once and separately, which you simply couldn't possibly reach, and presuming nothing new happens, ever.

I had to break down and apply for medicaid. They told me to get food stamps too, but I don't really want those yet. I'm embarrassed about it, but there's not a whole lot I can do really.

I'm just so shitting fucking stressed out. For anyone that remembers my job troubles, my boss isn't budging at all, and I'm just plain sick of that job. I'm feeling that termination or quitting is inevitable, and I'm feeling it might be for the best.
I'm not quite sure what to do. I applied for a Speedway Gas Station job literally on my way back from work. It's a step down from cushy hospital job, but it atleast it'll be during the day and I won't be bored to tears.

My Mom is being the non-supportive fucking cunt bitch she always is, just upset that my hospital job is in critical danger and is worried about my 'future' when I'm not even making enough money to live by myself still after almost 3 years with the hospital. Just fucking Christ, I have no clue where your backwards ass foresight comes from, but I'm sure it's guided the rest of your stupid as shit decisions in life as well.

I just want to feel like this world actually wants me to live in it. I'm feeling twisted up and sick. Just fucking kill me already.

I feel disgusting and reclusive and I'm getting drunk early.  I would shut off my router except I have work to do.  I should just resolve not to post anything today-
Oh hey new post in a discussion thread I like!

Also my laptop fan problem has progressed, it's now making a constant horrid grinding sound.  It has a load of other problems, but this one is proving more difficult to ignore.  (It's not overheating, it's just even more noisy than before...  And more intermittent).  Bothers me because I should just fix it, but I can barely bring myself to do ANYTHING constructive right now.

Also, fuckit, Jessica Jones (marvel show on Netflix) has been making me incredibly uncomfortable.
(Basically the villain can order people to do whatever, and they always do.  The protagonist would be a superhero except that they're a broken reclusive lush who lives in fear of him)
I guess at this point I'm watching just to see the villain die die die
It's a painfully good show

Same, Tiruin. That does in fact suck.

In a far inadequate sad, my laptop's battery is shot and shuts off automatically the moment it comes unplugged. I was playing Fort Mode. Didn't save. Poof goes three hours of work.

There are people in my house and they are being fucking noisy.
I believe one of them is a sibling of one of my housemates, and they are here to film footage for some shitty university project or something. Or perhaps it's a completely unrelated bunch of people. Whatever the case, they got here sometime in the morning and they're still fucking around and making noise. I need to take a shower at some point but I can't leave my room. Can't go back to sleep, either, not with these loud-mouthed dipshits talking in the hallway outside, whoever they are.

..Actually I think at least part of the noise is contributed by my shitty housemate (yes, the moron I complain about fairly regularly) arguing with his ex-girlfriend. Seems to be getting kinda heated, on his side at least. With any luck he'll attack her, get arrested and I won't have to put up with him any more.

This is all very confusing. I can hear other people talking occasionally, too. I don't actually know just who is in my house. O.o

Maybe they're shooting porn. That would explain them being fucking noisy.

* Yoink hurriedly throws up a psychic screen to deflect that mental image.

Phew, that was close. I did not need the mental scars that would be caused by imagining my housemate/s acting in a porno. :P
Anyway they seem to have gone, now. Good. Time to get some breakfast.
