If it makes you feel better - a lot of people have been there. I'm guessing that's not something you want to hear but this is especially true for people around your age (if age in your profile is correct). It will get better, eventually. It does depend on you, of course. Don't give in to despair, be prepared to grind your teeth from time to time and power through. You have a lot of time still left so don't beat yourself too hard, you know what I'm saying? Nothing is set in stone, there will be chances yet so sometimes it's best to just take a deep breath and chill. Things may not go your way now but few years from now on you'll look on your past self and just laugh, yeah?
i am fairly certain that things are going to improve but the long term is no comfort right now
like whatever the fuck happens all i can see ahead of me is suffering and i cant see shit i can do about it

E:
ugh here comes another ramble
it's not like i dont have friends or anything, i make friends at the chess club at school and shit it just happens to be that they're literally all dudes and this is a shitty tiny-ass town and there's nothing to do here. all of my interests and potential hobbies im already either doing and theyre all huge sausagefests anyway. my therapist asked me to come up with some hobby i would like to do and i cant think of anything and my thoughts inevitably go back to this fucking situation with my crush and i just panic mentally. and even then it sort of feels like my therapist is pushing me to think of other things but i can't look at the future right now and not having female friends also makes me feel like shit because my therapist talked about it so much and i just cant think of anything
i dont know what to fucking do, everything seems to have "i feel like shit and everything is terrible" as an outcome, except with varying degrees of "regret about things i could have done" and "feeling like everybody thinks im a weirdo"
and i cant get rid of that fucking feeling, i can only distract myself

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

You wanna hear another thing that's not helpful right now, but rather helpful down the line? All that relationship stuff becomes easier after your first serious one. Trust me, I speak from experience.

Just In Time Inventory is the stupidest shit ever.  Every fucking day it's the same thing -- something went wrong with one step out of several dozen in this process, and now everyone has to drop everything and move mountains or the entire world is going to crumble around us because we plan the arrival of materials from the other side of the world for our production down to the hour.  Crisis crisis crisis every fucking day.  Just because *in theory* if everything works absolutely perfectly, it saves money on warehousing.  My belief that the world is run by insane idiots grows every day.

Believe me, I know the feeling. JIT is crap trying and failing to replace any margin of safety for profits. Because, of course, "Profits!" Never-mind the risk of shutdown. Pay no attention to the problem behind the curtain.

In other, somewhat related news, more people rattle off GOP nonsense, and I wouldn't even mind if it remotely related to the subject matter we were talking about. Everything seems to try and fail at segways into this junk, in flames.... It's the complete obviousness that gets me. One second we're having a completely normal conversation about construction materials, and then it goes to [insert conservative Fox News] stuff.... There was no connection at all. Conversation hijacked. Because, of course, "Profits!" (But not for you and I, only other people).

Basically everyone wants everything done their way, be it JIT, conversations, or anything. Life doesn't work that way. As the old saying goes, "Shit happens." It seems nobody wants to deal with this and believes denial will solve things. It won't. 0 margin for error won't result in 0 error. Error will still happen and now there's no room for it so it will be a major problem.

Well of course not! You also need a zero-tolerance plan to punish people who make errors, in order to deter future errors! (I borrowed this terrible suggestion from oops-that-didn't-work-like-we-thought-it-would 80s and 90s tough-on-crime policies)

This is exactly how it works, though.

Feeling down tonight. Been in a lousy mood all day honestly.

Just feels like there's something missing from my life and I'll never fulfill that missing thing. Like I'm always gonna live my life incorrectly. Which is an illogical feeling. But still feels bad man.

People still have faith in JIT? You're losing more money trying to keep meeting your vendor's prices than having excess inventory. Even I know that, and I know fuck-all about business.

Stayed up, decided to play some Dota 2. Kid wakes up in the middle of the game. Normally, if this happens, it happens at ~ 2am, today it happens a 12. Normaly I'm working, wife takes care of kid. But for some reason, every time I play this game, regardless of time of day, if wife is home, my game is interrupted halfway through.

Now I get another abandon, likely punished in game with low priority mode and being forced to win... 3 games I think? And I'm on one hell of a losing streak. I guess it's something silly to be sad about, but it sure is bothering me tonight.

Interrupted games + losing streak is not a fun combination, huh.

...

B12 has a CEO, it's Toady.
Legally, he's the owner (assuming Bay12 is a real company). No company necessarily has any positions other than shareholder/owner. I'm not sure if Toady bothered giving himself and Threetoe any official positions.

x-post from WTF thread. It's part sad, part happy, part pitywanking.

Dating someone from Bay12 is weird. I always have to fight down to urge to be sugary sweet with my boyfriend on the forum, because that would be rude to single people, but the urge is real.

I guess this is the same reason why rich people like to have expensive statues of themselves built to stroke their money penis. I'm a jerkass who wants to rub my happiness in other people's face.

Or maybe I'm thinking about this too hard.
