My brain has gained the power to make me despondent whenever I so much as look at a Rubik's cube.

I know why, but still. Why, brain. It was one occurrence.

I feel the same way about guitar nowadays. It sucks putting hours and hours of practice into an instrument like that only to finally realize that you have not improved at all and probably never will.

I think... I think I am in a pretty bad mood today.
No doubt partially due to getting so little sleep and being expected to do stuff today. Stuff which I woke up already running late for and still haven't gotten around to. There are probably other factors, too, such as having to stretch my remaining money all the way to next weekend.

Should really stop procrastinating, go make an appearance at this shindig I said I'd go to, and then come home, drink coffee and play videogames.

Oh, different reason.

That does suck though. Though what most trainers would say is the solution to that is to practice more.

The Tack way of dealing with this is usually to ring up, laugh about what a trash human being I am for doing this last-minute no-show, and then hang up, refuse to play vidya or drink booze until it has actually sunk in how trash my actions were, and go to sleep feeling regretful and self-conscious.

Then again, they say negative feedback loops never work, so hey.

Edit: although it may slow down the loss of trust your semi-regulars 'll get.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I wound up managing to fulfil my burdensome social obligations after all.
And I didn't even have to spend money I needed for other things- I think this counts as a victory. Now to relax and try to recover.

B-b-b-but, negative feedback loop is, like, the basis of any advanced automatics control. D:

snip

If it makes you feel better - a lot of people have been there. I'm guessing that's not something you want to hear but this is especially true for people around your age (if age in your profile is correct). It will get better, eventually. It does depend on you, of course. Don't give in to despair, be prepared to grind your teeth from time to time and power through. You have a lot of time still left so don't beat yourself too hard, you know what I'm saying? Nothing is set in stone, there will be chances yet so sometimes it's best to just take a deep breath and chill. Things may not go your way now but few years from now on you'll look on your past self and just laugh, yeah?

I'm actually not going to quote Descan this time... Good luck figuring out how you feel. It is often difficult. I hope your friend stays your friend or otherwise!
~snip~

probably too afraid to tell you before because they didn't know how you would respond
so respond positively ;D
thank you for responding, surprised me actually lmao

so yeah, we talked and stuff and they said that they aren't not interested and would be okay with a a furthered relationship if that's what I wanted, but we both agreed that staying friends would be preferable and yeah hooray for overthinking everything

i guess i shouldnt put too much stock into their ramblings when they're not thinking clearly

Aren't not interested.

That's a mindfuck and no mistake.
Sucks you had to turn them down though, but 'tis how the heart works.
Or, depending, other various anatomies.

This is the solution to that, yeah. Either that or practice in a different manner to what you've been doing.

Hell, it's the solution to lots of things one is bad at and wants to improve on. Or even things one is good at and wants to improve on.
