Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate it.

Went to friend's. Played Pathfinder. When the game was over, my mom normally picks me up. This time her ex came with her. He had offered to drive her to pick me up.

Whole drive back to his house he was screaming at me about how I'm a failure, a loser, and won't go anywhere in life because I have no life. That at my age I should be out drinking every night with my friends, have a full-time job, be out of college, and have at least two kids.

I get it. I know. I'm pathetic, with no license or car, still in school, and will likely be unable to take care of myself if left alone. I have no interests or hobbies outside of gaming, and have been repeatedly told that I should give up games and internet. I'm a disappointment, and should have independence by now. I shouldn't need pills that may or may not work. People have higher expectations of me than they should, I think.

It's strange, since my mom had to try to give me the medication without her ex seeing them whenever we were at her ex's for the weekend. Apparently he's known I've been on them shortly after I started taking them over a year ago. So he is allowed to know, but I can't let my own family know?

And why was he so pissed off at me the whole way back? Because he had to come out to pick me up, because he was missing a hockey game. Again, he specifically asked to come with my mom to get me.

Can't say I'm happy with my life.

BlackFlyme, your mom's ex sucks.  This is probably why he's her ex.  ;P
Don't listen to him, is I guess my advice.  Or, rather, listen to the content, not the tone.
He makes a point, you probably should be being independent-er.  Learn to drive/acquire license, at least.  (Then he won't have so many opportunities to scream at you ineffectually.)

What a shitty life that would be. I'll take university and Pathfinder games over full-time work and alcoholism any day. Full-time work is basically just "here have INFINITE STRESS". Education is a fantastic thing to have, even if it's not useful. Obviously you need some pragmatism to balance that out, but if you're doing what you enjoy, then your life will be infinitely better than what it would be like if you're always trying to live up to other people's expectations.

This too. (emphasis added)

I feel like I'm back where I was two months ago. Except a number of things are probably worse now.
Maybe I would feel better about it hadn't been just three weeks since I was rejected.

Like, fuck, why do I get crushes so fucking easily???

I guess there are a few good things about this, but those feel somewhat iffy. I was sort of looking forward to not worrying about this all the time.

Imposing his standards.

Don't dwell on the negative stuff as if it should be your life. It's how he envisions living--while he has a point, it is very muddled by his behavior (in which the orange part denotes ..ehhhhh).

You've a life, dude. :D You're the nice person I know! You don't patronize others. It is sad to see him being condescending to you (I mean he could help instead of judge but eh. He's coping by 'demeaning' :/)
Live your life :) Live your goals :D Align them for the betterment of you--focus on your quirks before you tackle others' quirks!
Don't take your...err, mom's ex' words to heart. Take them constructively (as in minus the needless fat of the statement)...in which I mean, better yourself to make you happy, and make yourself happy about your achievements (and for others too!) :)

What a terrible definition of success he has. Having two kids at the same time would be a sizeable financial drain, and 2 kids at your age? 20s, right? That seems a poor life choice. And going out drinking every night seems a horribly inefficient use of time away from work. Maybe every Friday night could be understandable, but every night are you an alcoholic what is this. Likewise, it'd seem poor parenting to be going out drinking every night with friends while your kids are at home doing whatever. Way to teach by example to little billy and suzy that what's important in life is booze and socializing, not work or responsibility or anything.

The full-time job part is understandable but only really applicable if you're either taking college part-time or out of college, or working at the college, I guess, possibly. And the amount of time it takes to be "out" of college depends on the person and how high of a major or what kind of major they're going for.

tl;dr: Dude's an asshat loser, disregard his misguided opinions.

Nothing like discovering 4 years after purchase that one of the main features you bought a highly anticipated game for isn't even present.

Probably fixable by modding, but I usually play my games 100% vanilla and messing with mods stresses me out and makes me paranoid.
This is the price for going into detail avoidance mode for any game I intend to play, I guess. :/

There are no clean plates, dishes or bowls left to eat from in my house.
For weeks now we've been out of dishwasher capsules because one housemate insists on waiting 'til he can buy them in bulk from Costco- sure, that way we'd save a lot of money, but until then I have to eat off whatever I can find. So far some notable improvisations include eating pasta out of a skittles bucket (actually worked quite well- put in sauce, put in pasta, put in more sauce, replace lid, shake it all up, enjoy), a large glass oven dish, a measuring cup and, this morning as I really scrape the bottom of the barrel, a cracked rectangular tupperware container I found in the bottom of the cupboard.

This could probably class as a WTF, but it works here too.
