Someone called me "he" online and I'm not sure how much I care.
I decided to be chill and not say anything, because I don't even know my "real" status.  But I guess it did bother me a bit?
I suppose if I care I should put the bit about "they/their" back in my signature.

I dunno though.  I don't really blame people for assuming people online are male.  But I wish it wasn't like that.
I especially wish English had words for gender-nonspecific third person.  Language shapes thought, after all.  Gender shouldn't matter so much, that it needs to be included in every fricken pronoun.

They.  Their.
It's catching on.
Here's hoping it catches up to you.

Be glad your first language isn't Spanish, or French, or something like that.

I've been called "she" plenty online and I'm quite the opposite.
But as with most things on the internet, I wouldn't consider it something to take to heart.

As best as I can tell, nearly every language is like that though. Gender does seem to be a big part of history, and most languages were created during the course of history, therefore they have gendered words for no reason beyond "It seemed important at the time".

Don't worry Jigglymush, you're still sentient pudding to me.

I remember French being bad for gender-specifics back in school. And the teachers who would outright refuse to mark your work because you forgot one accent.

My French teachers were actually decent about that.

I am so tired of calculus homework. And it never ends. As soon as I get one assignment done and turn it in there's a new one.

Kill me.

No.
But yeah, calculus sucks.  Currently taking it.  It is hard.
