i think it's a different kind of edgy

the nervous and anxious kind, not the look-at-how-ruthless-i-am kind

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Finished ~21 math problems assigned from the textbook in my calculus class.

Besides those problems, we also have two "Reviews" included at the start of the book which we have to do. Both are 10 "problems" long. Each problem is subdivided into smaller problems, averaging between 3 to 6 problems each.

I'm drowning in numbers and symbols. I've been working on it consistently between classes since getting assigned it yesterday and it seems like I'm never closer to finishing it. And that's not counting any corrections I may need to make before turning it in. The maaath. Ye gods, the MAAAAAATH.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Calculus is basically Satan
Strange, I loved Calculus way more than algebra (though yeah, the "review" at the start sucked). It was really nice to get back to problems that were easy enough to do in my head with integration and derivation versus all that crazy algebraic manipulation stuff with trig functions and whatnot.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

I too hate algebra more than calculus, but that doesn't stop me from hating calculus.

Cute girl in one of my classes.

I don't mind how I barely speak to people, unless said people is a cute girl. Then I feel bad about not being more outgoing and talkative and not trying to say anything to the cute girl.

Woo, introversion and stuff.
I know it's little help, but I know how you feel.
The only advice I can give is just to try and talk to her. I'm still in summer break and can't really talk to anybody outside of my direct family, which is making me a little edgy >.>

how edgy is a little edgy

did you try so hard and get so far or are you securing a future for the white race by systemic genital mutiliation of undesired elements via clever use of cordless drills

The original edgy, to be 'on edge'.

Vs other various forms of edgy.

Words cannot describe how much I hate the business world.  I would seriously rather live as a hunter-gatherer in an uncivilized world than live day in and day out feeling such immense pressure to fight like rabid vermin over stupid petty numbers (solely for the benefit of people who don't know or care about us), knowing that the homelessness that may follow refusal to keep up the act is even harsher in our modern everything-is-owned-and-nothing-is-shared landscape than life as a hunter-gatherer ever was.  I'm overwhelmed with so much anger and hatred right now over all the bullshit.  Just because some trucking station failed to follow directions for a couple days in a row, and cost us $50 because of it.  And tomorrow is going to be a ridiculous shitload of stupid drama as a result.  Why haven't we burned it all fucking down yet?

The rich people like things just the way they are, I think is the problem.  Also, the firemen would HATE that.
Though frankly, I agree with you that the system is borked beyond survivability.
Like, literally so broken it kills people and might cause a collapse of civilization if the politicians don't get off their velvet plush backside supports, compliments of the business community, and get their act together.  Like by ACTUALLY TAXING RICH PEOPLE INSTEAD OF MIDDLE-CLASS PEOPLE.
