I was rude to my grandparents and dad and I feel bad about it and I'll have to say sorry this Monday but I don't want to because I feel like it'll end up with an awkward sermon and aagh >. <

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Mom has prohibited my 10yo sister from playing TF2 because it's "too violent"

bu-buh she's like the most mature person in this house :c
To be fair TF2 has a lot of over-the-top violence, politically incorrect jokes, racist, sexist, and ableist humour. They handle it pretty well, but I don't think parents will be particularly thrilled.

She could always play CS:GO, since you can easily trade CS:GO stuffs to TF2 items and vice versa.

Alternatively, she could play on sillygibs servers.

I don't see how this would change anything. She'd be able to transfer items, but still not be able to play TF2.

Oh and playing as religious fundamentalists may not go over well, but I don't know about that.

tbh i cant be much sympathetic since i only started playing violent games when i came to study overseas and my parents started to trust me more with independence.

even then i'm an aggressive person and probably a danger to society

In the surrounding lore maybe, but in the game itself? I'm not seeing it.

Domination quotes, but those are difficult to hear and usually ignored anyway.

So uh. I vastly misinterpreted my friend's reason for being upset last night. Turns out her marriage is falling apart.
Aw, that's sad...I hope their marriage can get back together.
Or breaks cleanly.
Breaking cleanly is a very good thing. I'm currently seeing (hopefully not experiencing) the opposite, and it's not pretty. For no-one.

Having been in a relationship for 15 years that has almost always been crippled by severe trust issues, this is a powerful image to me.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on B12 who still plays Star Trek Online and thus can't really share my hype for it without necroing

Motherfucking thunderbugs. One of them has succeeded in getting behind my monitor's screen. I can't flick it off because of that, and if I squish it it's NEVER getting out.
Ah technology from back in the day when a system 'bug' was litterally a bug in your system.

Tweezers?

I either have an ulcer or some other gut problem. I hope it's the latter (because it should clear up by itself), but the former is certainly not out of the question.

...I'd think an ulcer is not the worst thing you could have if you have unidentifiedly screwed up gut.
