by about 2060 we will have created a cybernetic capital-G God
You know how many people used that word to describe the world ending in 2012?
Mayan calendar's out, what's the next apocalypse trend?
Important note, but the Mayans and Aztecs actually didn't think that the world was ending in 2012, because they actually understood that their calendar is cyclical. To them, the year 2012 wouldn't have been the end of the world, but would rather be much more like the year 2000 was for us; the day when we throw a huge party, roll over the big number at the front, and then start all over again (and for them it would also involve building all of their pyramids one level higher).

Actually, people panicked about the year 2000 as well. A better analogy would be December 31st.

Yeah but that was because people though it would make computers turn into flaming cyborg demons because they can't count.

Yeah but that was because people though it would make computers turn into flaming cyborg demons because they can't count.

I mean, seriously, how ignorant does one have to be to have believed that Y2K theories had any basis in fact? The nearest leap in logic should be "Computers that didn't account for years past 1999 might have minor display problems", not "the computer systems ruling the entire world will collapse and leave civilization in ruins".

Actually, as I think about it, the entire thing is dumb. It would be more work to make any sort of glitch happen relating to the year 2000, or any year.

Code: [Select]
if(date == January 1st && time == 12:01AM):
    year++;

I don't know much about programming operating systems, but I can't imagine the calendar year being any more difficult than that.

Possible early stages of malnutrition are rather annoying, fortunately I'm going to relative's houses soon and there'll be plenty of food. But I've been passing out intermittently all day and can't remember what I was supposed to do.

What you were supposed to do is eat.

Take BigDog, made for military use as a mechanical pack mule. It's cool.
My favourite is the video which is just a guy kicking one around. Obviously it doesn't have feelings, but it moves like a thing that's alive and kind of staggers to the side and it's pretty funny.

That guy is /so/ going to suffer after our robot overlords take control.

I think I've been harshly demotivated for a lot I was working on and doing for no good reason. I can't even begin to fathom why and I don't like it.

Mood swings and getting more worked up about things than I should. Not that I don't have valid reasons to be concerned, but when it gets to the point when said concern is stopping me from helping myself it's obviously too much.

Other sad: Losing weight again probably due to stress influencing my eating habits. I find it easy enough generally to skip meals.

Do you mean someone is demotivating you? Because that would be a good time to use the chainsword. If you mean as in a general demotivation, then as someone with more projects than I can handle then I feel you and offers you an e-hug.

Okay, I think I am sick.

I think dinner last night may have been undercooked. Though my mom thinks it was overcooked, despite the meat still being somewhat pink. You can tell she rarely cooks via grill.

Several hours of editing .txt documents screwed because I was under Japanese locale. And some symbols became borked.
